Great speedo the program ability is awesome! You can get it set for any driving style. You can program it to be smooth or super aggressive, hard or soft brakes. With the hot wire and the quick tune buttons on the esc it makes for adjusting for any track conditions quick and easy. The data logging is unrivaled by any brand of esc.
Performance is outstanding. These have been hard to find but a main got one in about a week.
I purchased one of these from the first production run in Feb 2018. Used both an original HotWire 1.0 with USB as well as the newer HotWire 3.0 with Bluetooth for programming. Both worked great, and this ESC features lots of tuning ability to get it setup just the way you want. Another good reason to invest in the HotWire is the data logging ability, of which is unrivaled in the ESC market. Data logging can be useful for many things like fine tuning motor gearing (ability to watch motor temps, RPM, and throttle amount).
Bottom line, this ESC is very smooth, feels great on the track and features strong brakes if needed. I'm using it for 2wd buggy with 17.5 spec stock and 7.5 mod, zero complaints.
This is one of the best 1:10 scale esc’s around. It is super small which makes it perfect for kits that have tight spaces for electronics. I use this one in an outlaw 4 and it fits great. tekin’s customer service is above all and is there for any need you may need with there electronics. You can purchase the Hotwire separate for even more dialed in tuning via Bluetooth from your phone.
Finally got the opportunity to try out the Tekin RSX Pro. I just grabbed my second TLR 22x4 and my LHS happened to have the RSX in stock so I swooped it along with a Trinity 5.5t, a couple Maclan 6100mah shorties and Protek 160TBL servo. Over the last year Ive gotten into the 1/10 scene, adding the Tekno EB410.2 and ET410.2, TLR 22 5.0 Elite, 22x4, 22T 4.0 and they all got the Hobbywing XR10 ProG2 combos, mainly because my local RC shop always had them in stock. I have 5 Tekno 1/8 powered rigs, EB48.4, EB48 2.0, ET48.3, ET48 2.0, SCT410.3, the TLR 8ight-XTE, 8ight-XE Elite and a couple others and every one has the RX8 Gen 3 T8 combo because when I built the first couple kits 2 years ago I went with the Tekin and have had no reason to get anything else as they have all been perfect ever since. Thats why Ive been wanting to compare the RSX Pro to my existing 2s setups. My only complaint so far is that like the RX4 in my crawler, the solder posts on the RSX seem like they are too small to cleanly solder on 12 guage wire, but thats probably because the HW stuff comes pre soldered and the RX8's have bigger and easier to use posts. I did also pick up the larger non polarity HW capacitor that comes in the little aluminum case to use in place of the little single cap that comes with the RSX, and Im also curious to see what the temps will be like without the fan installed. Thats one of the last 2 things so far which I prefer the with the HW, the fan comes pre installed and includes the nice aluminum cover that matches the esc, and lastly I've grown to really prefer how they have the power switch on the ESC and also include and remote mountable switch that plugs in if preferred. Ill get the new 22x4 out along with the HW powered original to compare back to back and I'll update the review once I have some packs through it.
great esc from a great company. ive been using tekin products since the early 90s and never had any issues. same holds true for this esc. ive had the original rsx as well as the pro. i liked the solder posts a little better on the original...they were a little longer and i think a little bigger in diameter. but overall i cant complain. for those of you having trouble getting the hotwire3 (bluetooth) to par and connect to an android phone...make sure your gps/location is on. idk why but it has to be enabled. you can disable it again after your done tuning but have to enable it again to reconnect. i fought with this for months then finally called randy pike (before he left tekin) and he told me to enable gps...bam it worked right away after that.
good seller
good ship
good item
thx
but slow delivery
Super smooth and reliable. Top brand manufacturer and been making speedos since the beginning of RC racing (:
Was a breeze to set up and feels/runs really solid. It would be nice if the switch were on the ESC itself, but I’m not going to knock anything off the rating for that.
love the esc. very smooth with the tekin 550 motor in my xray XT4.
Tekin speedo's are my "Go to" This ESC is excellent just like the RSX. It is very similar to the RSX other than a couple of updates. I had the same issue with the hotwire not binding to the RSX Pro as well. It did not have anything to do with the ESC or hotwire per se. It was an issue with the hotwire app. Tekin has fixed the issue, it is now up and running! This ESC is outstanding.
I never received my order!!!!it’s been 3 weeks!!!!I need it before Xmas it’s a present
It's hard to link the Hotwire to my Android phone. I'm going to try help from tech support.
