Tekin RX8 GEN3 1/8 Competition Brushless ESC
New solder posts are a huge step up from the older model. Not only easier to solder, but more sturdy as well. I think they will see a dramatic reduction of problems previously seen due to bad soldering causing damage to the circuitry.

Tekin RX8 GEN3 1/8 Competition Brushless ESC
As usual great quality product. This my second RX8 ESC.Just as good as the Gen2 but with little more muscle and few more updates.Like the new 250 HotWire update.A bit easier to set up your ESC.Can't wait for the HotWire 3.0 Bluetooth as it would be so much easier to set up your ESC's on the go with the phone in your pocket all the time instead of laptops or desktops.Only one question? Why is there a price drop so soon? Are they revising RX8 Gen3 already?Hmmm.....But I am very happy with the ESC and it dos a great job on my 1/8 scale TLR Buggy.Definitely five stars.

Tekin RX8 GEN3 1/8 Competition Brushless ESC
Never been a Tekin 1/8 scale guy, they seemed so unreliable when I started e buggy after doing nothing but nitro. The gen 3 reviews at my local track made me break down and try one on my eb48.4 and this thing is perfect. It’s got the off throttle feel that’s so close to a nitro car that I can run back to back heats with this and my NB48.4 and not have to adjust driving style or braking points. Took a bit to get the feel I was looking for but once it was dialed in it’s perfect.

Nothing at all wrong with the other big brand at all, I just couldn’t quiet get the feel I wanted to mimic my other car and make transitions easier, this has it. Perfection.

Tekin RX8 GEN3 1/8 Competition Brushless ESC
Worked great for a while then it started to fail (truck would just stop). Sent it in for service. They said it needed replacing and wanted my CC number. I won't buy another. Many of my buddies at the track had the same experience.

Tekin RX8 GEN3 1/8 Competition Brushless ESC
Gotta love a "review" by someone who hasn't touched the product, like J.Anderson. Take his **** for what it's worth.

I have this new esc and it is high quality. New solder posts are awesome compared to the slit type of gen2. Upcoming Bluetooth adjustability is also excellent and class leading. Support a real racer's company by picking one of these up.

Tekin RX8 GEN3 1/8 Competition Brushless ESC
Great speed controller very powerful easy to set up with the hot wire well built only thing I would change is a stronger fan doing drag racing with it and with the low turn motors gets hot if your doing setup runs have too keep an eye on the temperature of the esc

Tekin RX8 GEN3 1/8 Competition Brushless ESC
For the person who wrote about the switch, when has a switch been good on an ESC? Cut it off, solder the wires together, and don't worry about it.
Anyways, mine is great. First one failed after two months. E-mailed Tekin. Within 24 hours had a RMA and they replaced. I've always owned tekin. This is the second ESC that has failed out of quite a few. But they always stand by their products and for me that makes all the difference as these cars get abused especially when racing in 96 degree weather of Florida.

Tekin RX8 GEN3 1/8 Competition Brushless ESC
I have several Tekin ESC's and have had no problems with them. Getting into 8th scale there was only one choice for me, the RX8 is capable of handling the ob.

Tekin RX8 GEN3 1/8 Competition Brushless ESC
The tekins gen3, is pretty smooth much better then the gen2.but the hobbywing xr8 is smoother and more durable then. The gen.3,tekin needs to beef up the case on these esc, s compared. To the xr8 its terrible in durability. But its above average thow .

Tekin RX8 GEN3 1/8 Competition Brushless ESC
This speed controller is about average. When I got it, the soldering job was easy compared to the older version. The switch is so flimsy that my car has turned off on it own twice during an a main race. Great way to lose a full minute and half and fall in last place. Been developing a lot of glitching lately. A couple time I turned it on and nothing is working and the lights are blinking (wrong motor type)?? It is the motor that came with it? I am going to try hobbywing and see if theirs is any better.

Tekin RX8 GEN3 1/8 Competition Brushless ESC
Lasted about 12 battery packs then it randomly started smelling bad one time on the track, 1/8 ebuggy. I noticed something unusual when I would turn it on and it wouldnt arm with the receiver, and the 1/2 6/7 lights were blinking. I'd shut it off then back on again and it would work normally. I re-calibrated throttle endpoints and then it would never arm again after that. Trashed. RX8 lives up to what people told me would happen.

Tekin RX8 GEN3 1/8 Competition Brushless ESC
One of the best ESC hands down. It's been tried and true for many years. With that being said, it is time for an update. I have to be honest the switch can be bigger and more durable. There are servos out there that can handle 8.4v but you only go up to 7.4v on the BEC. The fan is flimsy and needs to be more durable. These days it would be nice to include space for an aluminum fan either above the cage or that will fit underneath. Please don't feel like I'm bashing Tekin. I just bought 2 Rx8 gen 3 to replace my old ones that finally died on me recently. Thanks guys keep trucking.

Tekin RX8 GEN3 1/8 Competition Brushless ESC
The RX8 esc is known for being fast, but relatively fragile. My experience with Tekin's customer service has been mixed, but they're an American company and I try to support that.
