Team Associated MT12+ Lux Mini 4WD RTR Electric Monster Truck
The Good: I like the realistic looks of this truck as compared to some other options. Price, size, and power system seemed just right for my 8 year old son's first real RC. First impression driving it seemed to have potential to be a lot of fun, not very fast compared to a something with a 540 motor, but it is light, agile, and had plenty of torque to get up an go.

The Bad: 60 seconds into the first run Christmas morning the steering knuckle broke in half. The plastic material used for this part looks too be really poor quality. I am going to try the ST racing upgrade Steering Knuckles, hopefully the rest of the plastic parts hold together. At this point I am quite disappointed that after about 50+ years of the Team Associated brand they can't put out a product with better quality than this.

Team Associated MT12+ Lux Mini 4WD RTR Electric Monster Truck
I do enjoy the truck. It has a ton of torque and is fast enough to bounce around everywhere. Basically small inch high differences in the grass send it jumping, which is fun. On Xmas day, we went out to the backyard and tried the truck. The front bumper lasted like 2 minutes before snapping off. Fine. I expected that after seeing reviews. However the right front steering knuckle snapped at its thinnest point 5 minutes into the first run from possibly running into a brick and flipping. So I had to go and order new steering knuckles to be able to use the truck. That was ultra annoying. The truck didn't last it's first battery pack before needing repair. Also 3 of the 5 yellow light caps from the top light bar fell off somewhere in the yard. Also my fault. I should have glued them. Anyway, fast forward 3 days and I get the new steering knuckles in the mail (original replacement, not aftermarket). I also went ahead and got a tool kit that made removing the tires, tiny nuts, and hex screws super easy. The replacement took like 20 mins. It was my first time taking the truck apart, so I gained some knowledge I guess. Second run in the yard went great. Like I mentioned, it hops around everywhere. The truck also wheelies like crazy if you go full throttle. If you turn too quick at full speed, you'll get both left or right tires in the air, which is fun. Turn too tight at speed, and it'll probably flip over. I can't overstate that almost any bump sends the truck hopping a few inches in the air, but the tires have enough traction that they like to stick to the grass and dirt, so you still have control. So despite the hiccup of the broken steering knuckle on day 1, and the front bumper snapping off immediately, I still recommend the truck. It's a super amusing, torquey truck that's fast enough to have fun with.
