Model Kit Overview:
This is the Tamiya 1/48 Focke-Wulf Fw190 D-9 JV44 Airplane with Citroen 11CV Staff Car Model Set. This model combines the iconic Focke-Wulf 190 D-9 fighter plane and the Citroen 11CV Staff Car all in one set. With updated decals compared to purchasing items TAM61081 and TAM32517 separately, this combination adds a more historic feel to the scale realistic looks of the set.
During the final stages of World War II, the Messerschmitt Me262 jet fighter became the main fighter of the German Luftwaffe. The jet lacked acceleration at low speeds and was vulnerable during take-off. The Jagdverband 44 (JV44) Special Operations Air Unit was formed and consisted of Focke-Wulf 190 D-9's that flew cover for the Me262's. Meanwhile, the Citroen 11CV was a French masterpiece and a middle-class passenger car that was produced from 1937 to 1957. With its lightweight design and excellent running performance, it became the main military passenger car for both the French and German Armies. It was also used as a private car for Air Force pilots.
