Model Kit Overview:
Tamiya 1/35 British 25 Pounder Field and Quad Gun Tractor Plastic Model Kit. Known officially as the “Ordnance QF 25 Pounder”, this artillery piece was the workhorse of British and Commonwealth field artillery units during WWII. It received its title from the fact that it fired a 25 pound shell, and "QF" stood for quick-firing. Artillery is important on any battlefield, but the 25 Pounder played a crucial role in both offensive and defensive actions as fire support. Demand for a gun with higher capabilities grew during the First World War, and this demand was answered with the 25 pounder Howitzer, which was originally based on the 18 Pounder. Capable of firing anti-tank, explosive, and incendiary rounds, it excelled and quickly became noticed for being so reliable and effective.
