This truck is big, powerful, looks good, but has poor handling characteristics out of the box. The shocks are under dampened and all four were not filled completely. The truck likes to torque twist and handles almost identically like the 1/10 baja rey. I had to play around with shock oils and rear shock positioning. The issue’s still is there but it is not as severe.
Next the truck comes very toed in at the rear. They include extra inserts that will help with this. Lastly the rear diff is not locked. Putting thick oil (1mil or above) should help. Overall it’s a well built truck, but Losi did a poor job setting it up for out of the box use. I expected this to be more of a udr in terms of handling and suspension, but was disappointed by the setup as it feels identical to its smaller predecessor.
And also both bodies are primarily covered in very large decals that were applied extremely poorly from the factory, really expected more from a truck that is $900 before tax.
Super nice truck. The day it came in it was snowing so I had to go charge it up and take it outside immediately! Handled the snow like a dream and was a great time.
Great truck, but can’t even keep it running with every spare part being on back order for months. Just a paper weight now. Very disappointed.
I am so disappointed in this truck. not because of the performance but the part availability to keep the truck running. i broke the front bumper and parts are not available until end of MAY!!!!! how can this be? new trucks are still for sale. I feel like i have been taken by LOSI and Horizon. Do not buy this truck until parts are available!! my truck has been down since Mid january and its $1200 including batteries.
awesome truck, definitely gonna have to get something to support rear of roll cage (spare tires) because it slops around, and maybe belting the tires with duct tape so its more stable, if your on verge of buying you definitely wont regret it ( cleanings a bitch )
I have nothing negative to say about this rig. It's fast, handles great, and the suspension is incredible. Not to mention how awesome it looks. Worth every penny.
Never planned on purchasing this truck but could not pass on the sale & sure glad I didn’t. This thing is behemoth & I love it!
Love this truck first of all. I had its predecessor and I have to say 2.0 has done a nice job with the update. Everything about this truck is perfect. Certainly some tuning out of the box and I would recommend going through the whole truck before use. I added rear flex support brackets due to the known body flex but that’s a cheap easy upgrade. I had a slight issue with my product but AMain stepped up quickly and resolved my issue. Amains customer service is top notch! Thank you!
I had the First version of this truck and It has been my favorite RC every, and Ive been doing RC for 25 years. I love the Super Baja Rey. I bought the newer version because I love the look. The new Version Looks Much better with its scale body and everything. These Trucks are amazing, they will do Legit 50mph out of the box with the 6s, or 8s with the new version.
My only complaint about the New version is the stickers on the body. for the price we should have got a screen printed body that wouldnt wear off after a couple crashes. We paint RC on the inside so the crashes dont scratch the paint off. well these trucks, MOST of the design is stickered. and after some mud, or crashed or rocks the stickers are peeling. So I think they need to start painging/ screen printing the bodies.. Other than that. Still My favorite trucks of all time.. Fast Tough really eye catching..

This truck is awesome need some work out of the Box but with some experience you can get it just right and have lots of fun especially on loose ground Also agreed with everyone else wish Losi would have done a better job prepping it out of the Box to be an rtr. Overall I am still very satisfied with this purchase.
Truck is awesome and fast my first run out the box I got 52 mph. Bashed it for a little while next set of fresh batteries 60c I got 58mph and ran it hard for at least 15 minutes and that with 2 5000mah 4s 60c batteries. I have 6 other 1/5 scale trucks and buggy’s and this is now my favorite of them. Park this next to xmaxx and xmaxx don’t look so big. I definitely recommend it and I would buy it again.
The new Losi super baja rey 2.0 6th scale is bad a$$, if your thinking about buying one dont think just buy!, they are hard to nail down right now, just get on amain hobbys email list of when its available and act fast when they contact you, you wont regret it, forever losi and amain hobby fan!!
I had been toying with buying either a Traxxas UDR, or an Arrma Mojave for my offroad truck RC driving, even having a Mojave on backorder for a couple of months.
But when I saw the new Super Baja Rey was released by Losi, I knew that would be my next add to my stable.
It is BIG. It is well built, and it has a decent radio (for an RTR)and solid engineering through and through. I bought a pair of Spektrum 4S 100C LiPo's to go with it, and as a package, this thing is amazing. It goes well, drives to scale, and is amazingly controllable.
I still need to take it out to some off road, but I have run 3 packs of batteries through in the last few days, and each time, there is a smile on my face. A winner!
