Overall, prior preparation with arranging the parts before assembly will save a lot of time and frustration-and it will go together a lot faster. In my build, I used a 3300MaH NiMh 7.2v stick, a Hobbywing 1060 ESC, and a Dynamite 20t brushed motor. Old school to be sure-but inexpensive and reliable technology.
1- instructions were terrible… lots of plastic shims that were hard to differentiate and was just plain hard to follow. Other than 6 bags of part trees, the parts can be difficult to find.
2- the typical 1/10 scale lipo race batteries don’t fit. I Macgyver’d it with a zip tie for now.
3- the spectrum esc I bought BARELY fits… I had to cut the mounts off and sand even further and it’s still crazy snug.
Now that it has been built and with a little part tweaking all is well. The car could win races, again it drives amazing. I would not recommend this kit for a beginner though.
The instructions are quite complete, but you do have to refer to the part trees maps a lot to be sure you are using the correct parts. You do have a choice of shims on a number of suspension pivots so you can tune the geometry to your needs (or get in the weeds on setup) which is helpful.
One thing to be aware of is that this chassis is VERY compact. Choose your servo carefully, and a Hobbywing Quicrun 10BL 120 ESC is too tall for the sidepod with the fan on top.
All in all though, excellent product.
