To maximize power within a compact space, Chevrolet shifted its focus to smaller-displacement engines, unveiling the LT-1 in 1970. This 350 cubic-inch engine boasted a factory-rated 370 horsepower, setting a new benchmark for sports cars of the era. A notable distinction between the 1970 and 1971 Corvette bodies was the design of the side vents, with one featuring an egg crate shape and the other resembling shark gills.
