The Yokomo DP-302 V4 Drift Steering Gyro is a super high performance steering gyro that supports a wide range of needs and is perfect for beginners, high-level competitors, and everyone in between. With newly developed circuitry, this gyro offers 4 selectable modes and features the latest high-performance semiconductor chipset and programming. This helps to eliminate any undesired steering shake from gyro operation, helping to detect excessive movement and reducing the chance of unsettling the chassis. This gives the user unparalleled control over almost any surface.

Designed to make fine adjustments a breeze and switch access is massively improved. The aluminum case has a crisp thin design and the beveled edge has been given a luxurious gold anodizing. The quad control system, which is a revolutionary function, is roughly divided into two: “dual gain mode” and “dual gain control”.

In dual gain mode, ASSIST (assist) and NOR (normal) can be switched by the dip switch. In the ASSIST mode, correction of the gyroscope works strongly against driver’s operation and steering inputs. Allowing even total beginners to enjoy RWD drifting with ease. In NOR mode, the driver’s steering operation is prioritized, making it possible for you to counter steer your chassis allowing more control over larger movements of the steering range.

In dual gain control the gain can be adjusted in the range of SOFT and HARD respectively. In SOFT mode it will be easier to obtain initial front grip by suppressing the initial response of the gyro, taking away a little of the punch, making for tighter more controlled transitions. So it will be suitable for driving on smaller low grip tile and carpet track surfaces. In HARD mode, it is set for driving beginners and large-scale track layouts by increasing the initial response of the gyro.

Yokomo has also added an endpoint adjustment button that allows you to set the travel of the servo through the gyro, preventing any unwanted stress on the steering system, reducing power drain and overheating your servo.

Yokomo DP-302 V4 Drift Steering Gyro
Pros: Works as advertised. It can be paired with the ReveD servo with little to no issues. I've run my gyro sensor level at 100% on my Yokomo SP-03 D Programmable Brushless Drift Servo with no issues. There are videos online depicting the different setup options. Here is a simple breakdown of the options;

Normal Mode - Gyro assist driver
Assist mode - Most operates done by gyro

Red - Hard Mode (It feels like lane-keeping assist)
Green - Soft Mode

Cons: The user manual does a poor job of explaining the different options available.

Recommendation: I personally use normal mode (Gyro assist driver) and Green led (Soft mode) on polished concrete with little to no issues but I'm no expert.

Yokomo DP-302 V4 Drift Steering Gyro
I have a Rustler which I converted to a Mamba Monster x and then to the Hobbywing Max 8 with 2250 motor which comes with TSM and I like doing speed runs. The problem is that despite the TSM putting on the TSM control still had massive problems with keeping the car straight.I bought this about 4 months ago and just had it sitting and decided to put it on yesterday. This thing is so damn impressive.Once you set it on the assist/hard you literally don't have to anything except go on the throttle and this keeps it ruler straight. It's so odd not having to keep your had on the steering to make fine changes as the car shifts from it's straight line. This thing is definitely worth the money. The Traxxsas TSM supposed to be a similar system but this is on a whole different league from that.

Yokomo DP-302 V4 Drift Steering Gyro
Possibly the best gyro to get for the price and performance. I can run it at 100% gain without wheel wobbling issues. I got mine paired with a Reved RS-ST gyro and Sanwa receiver. Some people at my local track runs it with Yokomo servos and they said it communicates better but so far I haven't have any issue with my setup. I usually run it between 80-90% gain but I tested it today at 100% and worked perfectly. 100% recommended.

Yokomo DP-302 V4 Drift Steering Gyro
A must have for rear 2wd drift specific cars. Keeps my car straight and definitely assists me while performing drifting. My local hobby shop salesman helped me to get the gyro to work with my Futaba 4PLS.

Yokomo DP-302 V4 Drift Steering Gyro
Excellent gyro - ability to tune end points and gyro override is worth the extra dollars compared to the 302.
