Yeah Racing Tamiya Oil-Filled Differential Gear Set (TT-01/TT-02/XV-02)

The part is about 2mm wider that the Tamiya diff. This matters because it binds up the driveline and slows the car down.

While the differential feels good, and seems to be generally of good quality, the frustrating part is that this particular TT02 diff is not compatible with the Yeah Racing TT02 Steel CVDs #TT02-015. After purchasing and installing the diff, I noticed that the front suspension seemed to be binding and generally didn't perform correctly. Upon further inspection I discovered that the CVDs with the included pucks installed on them were too long and were bottoming out in the drive cups. I later found on the Yeah Racing website a note on the product page "This Cup Joint don't compatible with TT02-015 CVD ,Please use TATT-056 for TT02-015". Unfortunate that buying Yeah Racing TT02 specific products aren't even compatible with each other. It would also be nice if Amain happened to carry the #TATT-056 part.

P.S. Do yourself a favor and just save up for the Tamiya branded parts. I have multiple TT02s and I've never had a single issue with the first party hop ups. I previously bought a 3Racing sealed diff for one of my TT02s and it fits so tight on the diff case that it causes significant drag. It will eventually clearance itself, but you get what you pay for.

The quality of the differential is great, I did the whole aluminum upgrade on the chassis and this was the last hop-up I wanted, but since this differential comes with specific drive cups and the plastic spacers to have a better fit with the drive shaft to the wheels, it binds, I tried sanding the plastic pieces but no luck. So if you are thinking on adding the aluminum upgrades to the suspension, this would not fit. The solution I see is to buy the telescopic drive shafts for the RWD drift mod and adjust the lenght in order to use this differential...more cash....
