Chassis

The XRAY X8 1/8 Electric On-Road Pan Car Kit showcases a sophisticated chassis design built for performance and precision on the track. It features a unique sandwich-style chassis with a top-mounted battery tray that not only secures the power source but also provides longitudinal reinforcement, enhancing both rigidity and flexibility. Machined from high-quality 3.0mm graphite, the lightweight chassis is engineered to deliver maximum strength without adding unnecessary weight. Strategically placed cutouts in the chassis ensure optimal flex characteristics while improving airflow to cool both the motor and battery. This uniform flex system, designed in tandem with the battery tray, allows for fine-tuned adjustments, letting racers adapt the chassis' stiffness to varying track conditions for superior control and responsiveness.

Drivetrain

At the heart of the X8’s drivetrain is a robust, low-friction belt-driven system that ensures power is transferred smoothly to all four wheels. The wide 6mm drive belt is engineered for durability and efficiency, while the flanged bearing tensioner system provides precision belt tensioning without sacrificing chassis flexibility. This design minimizes belt skip issues and improves handling on the track. The lightweight spur gear, borrowed from the NT1, reduces rotational mass for faster acceleration and improved performance. Suspension

The X8’s suspension system is a work of precision engineering, offering tunability for a range of track conditions and driving styles. Its front suspension features a graphite plate connected to aluminum bulkheads via pivot balls, ensuring precise handling and geometry adjustments. The caster can be easily modified with three settings – 10°, 13.5°, and 17° – while the use of eccentric bushings allows for roll center and axle height adjustments. The independent front pod moves on pivot balls, allowing racers to fine-tune stiffness for optimal performance. An innovative O-ring system in the front suspension offers additional flexibility in steering control, giving the driver the ability to dial in the perfect balance of stability and responsiveness.
