Vaterra Ascender 1972 Chevy Suburban RTR Rock Crawler
Poor quality- plastic transmission gears. Have to order 2 separate part numbers to rebuild one transmission bc the metal gear upgrade has a square shaft, not round like the stock transmission. RTR comes with WAAAAAAY over tightened screws like grub screws for driveshafts. The 35T brushed motor goes about 4mph down hill on a good day and has minimum torque. This is a 1/10 scale crawler and it has a 540 can motor.. really? Paid about $280.00 for it should’ve just been happy with my Traxxas TRX4 instead of giving Vaterra a chance. Poor designs, corners cut with plastic transmission gears for a “crawler” stock tires are so small, wires for headlights are poorly taped in body as well.

-1/10

Vaterra Ascender 1972 Chevy Suburban RTR Rock Crawler
Finally got this opened today with the intention of playing with another vehicle but somehow after applying power to both vehicle and controller, there was no response. The vehicle lights were on but nothing f?nctioned, no forward, reverse, and steering. Power to the vehicle is a 7.4 2S shorty pack. I really like the frame so I'm thinking maybe I'll replace the components.

Vaterra Ascender 1972 Chevy Suburban RTR Rock Crawler
My second Vaterra's chassis.
Very good trial and trophy RTR.
Main pros is very good and small axles and good adjustable frame.
Some minor issues can be upgraded easily.
Main cons is a body. Looks like don't should look ever )))
