Works great while it lasts. Keeps the esc very cool on 3s without the random overheating shutdown issue. However, in the 3 weeks I've ran it, a propeller broke. I'm not sure how, the fan has plenty of clearance around it and no chance of it contacting anything. It may have just been bad luck or a random rock flying in since there is no screen on the fanblades. It still works though, just a bit noisier and with a bit of vibration since its missing a blade. Btw, it's not waterproof. Disconnect and remove if you plan to run in water, you won't need it. The water will keep things cool anyways.
I'm still running it but will be replacing it soon. Just the fan though, the blue clip-on frame is perfect. Replacement fan dimensions are 30x30x7.5mm and esc output fan voltage is 6V. I'm going with the Integy high speed cooling fan (part# INTC22479)
Constantly breaks, gets jammed, not serviceable - is there an upgrade available? When it works, it works well.
Broke 2 blades off first time at the race track with it, nothing hit it, all my wires are secured with zip ties, simply couldn't take the jumps, wasted money here. I would not recommend. Amain is excellent in their shipping and getting your parts.
Does the trick! Keeps the esc very cool! Well see about longevity. I did get a body cover so it should stay clean!
4 months of use. It rotates quickly, then slowly. For this price should be better.
Being in Iraq was worried about the warmer temps. Read the reviews and bought it when I ordered my Slash Ultimate. No complaints here. Does as it described.
Snaps right onto the ESC and provides some much needed cooling in hotter weather. I've had no thermal shutdowns since installing this fan.
Nice affordable upgrade to keep the ESC cool when running on a track, 3s speed runs or hot summer days.
The fan is great gives you longer running time and keeps the car cool. The car has taken flight 3 times at about 60+ mph since I've gotten it and the fan looks like new no broken propellers yet.
I would also suggest getting the motor heat sink as well ?
Fairly new to the RC bashing game. Have a Rustler 4x4 VXL that’s always running hot. 1st fan purchase (because Traxxas doesn’t include them with this model) was this and after a handful of sessions, it no longer works. Plastic construction didn’t break…wiring seemed to be intact, but it just stopped working. Tried different channels on my receiver and nothing. So….pretty disappointed considering this plastic thing was $25. It’s worthy of nothing more than 2 stars in my opinion.
Must have for the VXL-3s if you are running 3s Lipos. Easy to install.
Would not recommend. First time I used it at a local track it stopped spinning until I spun it with my hand for it to go by itself. Then the blades came off by itself while driving around. Disappointed for the price you pay for what you get. Broke after it's second use.
Fits perfect and works great. Need to get a fan for the motor now.
Simple design and great function. It has great positive engagement clips on both sides and it keeps my esc nice and cool through back to back battery swaps. Overall great product that should be on everyone's slash!
This fan fits perfect and works great but mine only lasted about a year and that is with me not getting my car wet at all...

I got mine from my LHS the day I got my Slash Ultimate and its been working perfectly since new, had it for a tad over 6 months, the packaging says its not waterproof but seems to work for me, one of the must gets for any VXL car.
This vxl cooling fan is really helpful when its hot outside my truck used to go into thermal shutdown but with the fan it doesn't no more

Great product! Had mine for half a year now and it's still going strong. Through the snow, dirt, and mud. Although it's getting noisy now probably from the dirt. Helps to keep it clean. Def keeps the ESC cool and running great even on those hot summer days!
