Traxxas Slash 4X4 "Ultimate" RTR 4WD Short Course Truck (Green)
This is a real review from a real person that has been enjoying the r/c hobby since 1989. (First car was RC10 kit) I debated for a few days between this and a few other models, with the Traxxas being at the highest price point. At this point I have no regrets and this truck quickly became one of my favorite vehicles to drive. It handles excellent, I can spin a 180 on a dime without spinning out thanks to the steering assist. Its fast, not as fast as some but plenty fast enough and I have not tried a 3s yet. It jumps great and has great air control via throttle and or brake. The truck is built solid and has high quality parts. I am glad that this was the truck I went with.

A few Cons... I dont like the body or the paint scheme, seems a little lame. I have ordered a new body and plan a badass paint job. I would also like to have had factory installed lights. Not really needed but cool to have.

Over all I am more than pleased, great truck, great handling, fast, well built, and comes with a quality controller, unlike some junk that is coming with RTR vehicles.

IF YOU BUY THIS TRUCK YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Traxxas Slash 4X4 "Ultimate" RTR 4WD Short Course Truck (Green)
What a great package! Even the tires are soft! The one thing I love the most about this truck is the fact that it needs literally NO upgrades right out of the box! 30ft jumps, and full on speed passes are no problem! Also, this model has the new 4 pole motor combo. Best of every world.

Traxxas Slash 4X4 "Ultimate" RTR 4WD Short Course Truck (Green)
Bought this from my local shop in clackamas, OR and loved it. I was not new to RC, traxxas (including nitro) but new to Lipo. After running 3s and changing the pinion this thing hauls and climbs like no other. I never liked racing and preferred bashing so traxxas was always perfect for me. Still hobby-grade quality and mods but cheap enough that if it breaks its not terribly expensive.
Since owning this since Feb 2020 I have not encountered any problems except a faulty ESC. It would heat up regardless of how I was running the slash. My local shop advocated for me (which didn't take anything" and had it replaced. Yeah, it was taking 4 weeks due to world-wide issues but it now works. I still have a cover for it and runs really fast.
I think I might turn it into a buggy but we'll see.
3s lipo gets me 15ish minutes of crazy high speed runs, jumps and thrills. Couldn't be happier.

Traxxas Slash 4X4 "Ultimate" RTR 4WD Short Course Truck (Green)
I bought a green and orange one for a back up as initially mine are not as durable as I thought they would be. On my very first run I broke a rod end. And on the 3rd run stripped the spur gear. So not a great start. Im sure I'll love them once I upgrade the parts that are failing though. It is alot of fun so I still give 4 stars.

Traxxas Slash 4X4 "Ultimate" RTR 4WD Short Course Truck (Green)
Truck is not the best of quality . You should get a lot more quality for $500 dollars. That’s not amains fault I blame that on Traxxas.. Electronics and esc are the best points of the truck. Brushless motor seems very good. Traxxas link works good so far. App works good too. The good thing about the truck is that the parts are cheap. I know it will get broke because of the quality of the plastic parts. Truck does not go 60mph with 19t pinion and 3s lipo battery. 57 mph is the best I can get out of truck, out of the box. All in all I think there is better trucks out there for the money!
