Traxxas Series Battery Wire Harness (NiMH Only)
"NiMH Only"

There is a reason why Traxxas puts "NiMH Only" on the product. But, I tried with LiPOs anyway. LOL

I've used 2 packs of 2S LiPos to make up to 4S, 16.8V.
You want to make sure your ESC and the motor can accept the voltage increase before you try.
As long as I don't go crazy and check the motor temp frequently, it seems to be working fine.

Again, please ensure the ESC and Motor can accept the increased voltage you plan to put.
Otherwise, it may ruin the ESC or Motor. Be careful! Do it at your own risk and responsibility!

Meanwhile, I chatted with Traxxas Live Chart and asked why it, TRA3063X, says "NiMH Only" they told me there is a risk of unbalanced cells and may ruin the battery cells. This is true as I've seen unbalanced cell voltage when the LiPo cut-off kick in.

So, my recommendation is to check the battery level and each cell frequently while using TRA3063X with LiPO.

"Never discharge a LiPo battery below 3.0v per cell. Ideally, you never want to go below 3.2v per cell to maintain a healthy battery. 2.9v per cell and lower is causing permanent damage."

I've manually set the LiPO cut-off voltage at 3.5V to be safe.
But, I usually end my run at 3.7 ~ 3.8V for each cell anyway.
As you know LiPO batteries aren't cheap! LOL.

Traxxas Series Battery Wire Harness (NiMH Only)
I plugged this into my 1/16 slash with two stock nimh batteries and now my esc is fried! The wheels started spinning full speed in my hands as the speed controller started to smoke. I'm not sure what happened but i cant recommend using this. There were no obvious special warnings to follow, but now my slash is smoked!

You've got a big brushless motor, beefy ESC, and you're thinking about using multiple LiPos to go 4S or 6S, transforming your 1:10 vehicle into a machine of such ferocious speed that men's knees buckle and women faint at the sight of it. So you buy the TRA3063X. You noticed that the wires seemed a bit anemic, but in your excitement you dismiss it. Imagine your disappointment, then, when it CANNOT CONNECT to your fancy Traxxas LiPo batteries. You look more closely and see a tiny "NiMH ONLY" stamped into the plastic. For today, your dreams have died.

This battery Y connector gets 2 stars from me on account of bad packaging. Nowhere except in almost invisible letters on the plug are you warned that it DOESN'T WORK WITH LiPo BATTERIES. The plugs are actually slightly different, physically preventing you from mating the two ends.

Does the product work? Probably! But who's trying to get top speeds with NiMH batteries!?
