Extended Wheelbase Chassis
Revo is most recognizable for its unique and innovative suspension design. The key to Revo's remarkable handling is in the rockers. Revo's patent-pending linkage-based suspension not only delivers the most suspension travel of any monster truck, it constantly varies both the spring force and damping to match suspension movement. Over small bumps, the suspension is light and responsive, reacting instantly to the surface. Compress the suspension over large jumps and the rocker geometry progressively increases the spring force and shock damping. In an instant, the suspension automatically becomes stiffer when you need it most. Ride height, progressive rate, and damping can all be fine tuned independently of the other. The result is a no-compromise setup that simply would not be possible with conventional suspension design. Only Revo delivers the best handling for every extreme.
The new chassis layout borrows from the exclusive Revo Platinum Edition with race-inspired features such as the compact receiver box that includes an integrated personal transponder mount for race day. Revo comes equipped with a AA alkaline receiver battery holder, it can also be equipped with a flat 5-cell rechargeable receiver pack (sold separately). The ultra compact throttle servo mount ties rigidly into the chassis and also serves a support for the air filter. Granted if you've got a bunch of newbies crashing all around your track you are going to see them break but for the most part the revo's are pretty tough.
Cons: The hub nuts on the older Revo's come loose alot. They put heavy duty locks on the newer Revo hubs, but that limits your aftermarket wheel choices. Larger air cleaner now too (about time). When we tear up in the sand, the tires peeled away from the rims and filled with sand. BEADLOCKERS! Oh, ya.
The tires are big and it grips awesome on grass and dirt. They are the same size as my 40 series bow tie tires.
Im gonna install a faster servo for throttle, the original servo is a bit slow.
