This is an optional on-board temperature gauge from Traxxas. This temperature gauge allows you to monitor your engine temperature during operation.

Traxxas On-Board Temp Gauge
Running this on a Revo 3.3 Clever routing from engine will allow it to mount nicely to the side of the steering servo making it accesible at glance as well as protected. Shows current as well as peak temps. Only drawback that i could find is it has no auto shutoff. Forget to turn it off, it will be done next time you go to use it. Keep spare batteries for it. Other than that, works exactly as advertised for me.

Traxxas On-Board Temp Gauge
In my opinion, the heat sensor portion of this temp gauge is far too fragile to be of any practical use in the RC world. I installed one around my Rustler VXL motor, where it's completely protected inside the motor guard and it survived just two packs worth of run time. And I'm new to RC stuff so it's not like I was out jumping over a bus. Just putzing around over bumps and such.

I could have purchased an IR temp gun from the get-go, but I guess that makes me the fool.

My recommendation is to steer clear of this little gadget.
