Traxxas Differential Ring & Pinion Gear
Ok for what it is, a diff for a 1/16 bashing truck. If you run diff fluid make sure to seal them with silicone or it will leak out, even thicker oil like 50k or straight up lithium grease works it's way out quickly.

Also pick up a set of these shims to keep the gear mesh tight or they'll strip out quickly especially using 3s lipo... ASC21141

If shimmed properly they will hold up quite well even if you like to wheelie and do backflips.

Good part if you're only running a 7.2v battery. If you run it hard, it strips out very easily.

on my mini e revo, i have to shim the ring gear side to ensure a proper mesh. this prolongs my diff to 1 month using 3s batteries and driving daily. these aren't bullet proof, so be careful when installing.

I've gone through a couple of these on the rear because the bulkhead isn't sealed. With all the dirt that gets in there they strip really fast. I'd give the bulkhead 1 star just for not protecting these gears.

Traxxas Differential Ring & Pinion Gear
I've purchased two of these gear sets to replace the ones that stripped in my Mini E-Revo. These gear sets seem to have a "tight" spot on them. Both of the new ones had it and both of the stock ones had it. It's one single tooth that is tight. To get rid of it, you need to shim the entire diff looser which makes your gear mesh everywhere else a bit sloppy. They also don't seem to be perfectly round (ie, the gear mesh changes as you spin the diff in the housing). I think these problems are rooted in low-quality casting/sintering process of the main ring gear/housing. The pinion seems fine.

Without a center differential, these will not last long unless you are VERY disciplined with the throttle. With a center diff, they should last a bit longer. They could be so much better though. If these two don't last very long, I may end up going with the Hot Racing version; though it is pricey.

Very soft metal. My E-Revo 1/16 VXL strips these after 2 days. They are hard to replace. You can get shims ( http://www.amainhobbies.com/rc-cars-trucks/teamassociateddifferentialshimset.324x.409x.0054asc21141-asc21141/p26250?gclid=COe3qKi7xsoCFZOCaQodCXsEYQ ) which are a cheaper method that keeps these gears going for about 2 weeks, but I can thoroughly recommend these Hot Racing helical differentials.
