The Ottsix AR44 SCX10 II 27T/8T HD Hypoid Ring, Pinion & Locker Set is a true heavy duty gearing option for the AR44 axle. These gears are available in tooth count options that allow multiple overdrive/underdrive gear ratio options, compared to the stock 30T/8T ratio. The locker features a deep socket design that keys inside the ring gear to take the pressure off the connecting hardware. Combined this with hardened steel ring and pinion material and hypoid cut gears, and you have a gear set that will go the distance. Package includes 27 tooth overdrive ring gear, 8 tooth pinion gear, locker, and hardware.

The overdrive (27T/8T) set allows a 10% overdrive of the front axles.

The gears are very well machined and smooth operating from the get go. The locking barrel keys into the ring gear and is held in place with 3 small screws. The key in is great as this greatly improves torque resistance between the barrel and the ring gear and should prevent shearing of the retaining screws as with outer designs.

Comes with two pinion shims. In my setup used only one shim on the outside between the pinion and driveshaft to have smooth meshing.
