Team Associated Rival MT10 RTR 1/10 Brushless Monster Truck
Very fun truck. Crazy fast on 3S. Only got to run one battery through it before I broke the front control arm. Team Associated front arms are very weak. Definitely recommend replacing all four control arms with RPM products. It’s only $25 for the complete set of RPM arms from Hobbytown. Fortunately I bought the RPM arms with the new truck, so I am not out a week with a brand new truck sitting on the shelf with a broken arm. Much more fun to drive this than the DR10. Has the same RTR electronics as the SR10, DR10, and Pro4 SC10. Very touchy brakes. LED lights are great in low light situations. Nearly an 1” shorter wheelbase than a Slash. Tires gripped very well in loose dirt and short grass. On gravel the back end would often slide out. Had to add 3 turns to the front turnbuckles to correct the factory toe out. Even with $25 for RPM arms, this 3s 4wd truck is less than $350, more than $120 cheaper than the comparable Hoss. I enjoyed this truck more than the Arrma Granite. Only upgrade I would look into is the Team Associated drive shafts, especially if you plan to run this truck on 3s. Team Associated Aluminum shocks are not needed. The plastic threaded shocks are fine for bashing. 3s soft packs do not fit very well into the battery tray. Battery tray is designed for hard case 2s and 3s packs.

Team Associated Rival MT10 RTR 1/10 Brushless Monster Truck
It's the truck I wished the Stampede 4x4 had been.

This truck is worth the hype. I've had it a month now, and have tried 2s and 3s. My driving style is more about high speed slides and drifts, not so much about huge air. That said, this truck is amazing. The center of gravity is surprisingly low for a monster truck, so on loose dirt it usually slides with controllable oversteer instead of rolling. On tall grass, it can traction roll, but its so stable it's slow to lift the inside wheels so you can usually catch it and drive out of it. If you do want to jump it, it's very stable and controllable in the air, especially on 3s. This is a very balanced chassis. A slightly softer spring in the rear would help it launch better, but it's perfectly capable stock.

Power is exceptional. 2s is plenty quick, 3s it can wheelie all you want. The electronics are top notch, especially for the money. No adjustable esc, but for the price, who cares?

Durability has been excellent. One month in running on dirt, grass, and some jumps, I've had the right rear lug nut come off, and I lost the same wheels center cap. Absolutely no other issues. The motor runs borderline too hot on 3s in tall grass, so I added a cooling fan, but that's the only mod I've needed so far. I bought the RPM control arms when I bought the truck, but I haven't needed them yet. I'm going to see how far the stock ones go before failure. Considering I'm not really interested in sending it "to the moon", it looks like it's going to be a while.

I had the Stampede 4x4 before this and it was constant heartbreak. Non stop breaking parts, didn't handle well, had to wrench every other time I drove it, etc. The Rival has been the complete opposite.

Between this and the SR10, I'm becoming a Team Associated fanboy. Great vehicles.

Team Associated Rival MT10 RTR 1/10 Brushless Monster Truck
Purchased after watching the latest video by Ben on Metal RC on youtube (proline demolisher video), good honest review.

Not usually a monster truck fan due to the handling, but this one handles very well, more like a stadium truck with larger tires.

Center diff was low on fluid, was diffing out alot, after topping it up with 120K (all I had, 100k usually recommended), works very well.

Factory brushless has good smooth startup, servo has good speed and torque for general bashing.

I would recommend a 3s if using factory brushless, has good power on 2s but not as aggressive as I like.

Currently running Castle 3800 Sidewinder 3 SCT on 2s with 12T pinion, very happy with this setup, alot more acceleration/torque will lift front end when I want, but not popping up all the time when I don't want it to.

Drivetrain is smooth, did end up removing small washers behind hex pins as they created a slight drag.

I'd give it 4.5/5 for these 2 very minor issues.

Everything was assembled well, did not find any loose hardware, pinion grub screw had good thread lock on it.

Would buy again & Recommend

Team Associated Rival MT10 RTR 1/10 Brushless Monster Truck
This thing is massively underrated. It's the best value for a short wheelbase 1/10th scale bashing focused monster truck, cheaper than the Granite 4x4 3S and significantly cheaper than the Hoss, but with better handling, better features and mostly better running gear (the ESC is a bit on the low-end, though).

Just one thing to note, this truck is basically made to run on 3S. It's no slouch but it does lack a bit of bottom-end punch when run on 2S. Bumping up a cell really wakes this thing up. It's actually difficult to keep the front end down on 3S, which is especially impressive on a truck with a center diff.

Team Associated Rival MT10 RTR 1/10 Brushless Monster Truck
I bought the Rival MT10 for my 8 year-old and I to share and it has exceeded all expectations. I think AE sorted out the strong brakes issue because mine is perfectly adjusted without the ESC hack. I had no issues with the arms either and have taken some big hits to the front end...maybe they fixed that as well (I bought a set of RPM arms assuming I would need them right away but that hasn't been the case). Plenty fast on 2S and silly on 3S. I stripped a spur gear but that was my fault with a poorly set mesh. The net is brilliant for keeping junk out of the chassis. I'm super impressed with the level of adjustability provided by 3 diffs, anti-roll bars and adjustable turnbuckles. A total blast at a reasonable price compared to the competition.

What a fantastic RTR truck. This thing really rips on a 2s lipo! Tackles all sorts of basher terrain easily with 4WD. Team Associated added some nice features like a net to help keep debris out of the chassis tub.

Team Associated Rival MT10 RTR 1/10 Brushless Monster Truck
I don't bash my MT10 hard, but it has banged into trees and boulders with zero damage. It has driven through numerous deep puddles without any effect on the electronics. I don't purposely drive through water but sometimes from where I'm standing it's not visible until I see the spray, so I'm thankful for the water resistance of this truck. The MT10 has excellent handling; it's very stable over a wide variety of terrain and obstacles. I love the bright LED headlights and taillights. I ordered the Reedy charger and battery suggested on the MT10 page, and I am very satisfied with them.

Team Associated Rival MT10 RTR 1/10 Brushless Monster Truck
Really impressed with this truck. Super durable and plenty fast. My 8 and 10 yr old Daughters have a blast driving it

It was given a 4 star rating because there were a few things we had to wrench on. First the motor moved due to one of the motor mount screws not being completely tight (Luckily it moved far enough to not strip the spur gear. The second was the adjuster on the steering rack backed off twice which causes the steering to hardly work. Both problems were easy fixes but I'm not sure a 1st time hobbyist would be able to fix it on their own.

Team Associated Rival MT10 RTR 1/10 Brushless Monster Truck
The Rival MT10 RTR 1/10 Brushless Monster Truck is the first basher I own and it is great for on and off the road. I have never had a RC Car that can tear across an oval or make the wheels baloon as much like this one can. I have some higher 3S C rated batteries that fit inside perfectly with the straps just holding them enough.
I have seen YouTube videos of people jumping them 20 to 40 feet in the air and it surviving the landings but I am not going to get that crazy with it. The only thing I will try is some other on and off road monster truck wheels on it.

Team Associated Rival MT10 RTR 1/10 Brushless Monster Truck
I have purchased from Amain before and have not been disappointed. First time buying a rtr Team Associated and as I stated above I am not disappointed. Ran off the 2S as the truck tore through the yard and street. I plowed a good size rock that a neighbor kid moved, I did not see as it sent the rock a few feet. The kids Mom came over to apologize for her kid moving the rock. I told he that it was my fault and the truck barely flinched. Even though this is not a Team Associated original design, they did end up putting thought into a racing platform. I am glad they did! I can easily see this as a new class at the local track.

If your running 3S the motor does get hot. Plan on buying an 1/10 motor fan mount Part#: EXO1718BLU or the fan shroud with fan Part#: DYNS7750. Use a Male JR to Female JST Y Splitter Harness Parallel Wire & 1 Pair JST to JR Male Female Cable Servo Adapter to connect the two fans. Or do as other sand solder the fans straight to the battery connection.

Team Associated Rival MT10 RTR 1/10 Brushless Monster Truck
Wow, this truck is fast, turns on a dime, stops on a quarter, runs over small buildings/twigs/brush/cacti.
Seems to be very good quality so far and long run times on 2S 5000 mah. It is silly fast on 3S.....
If the driver was as good as the truck this would be an unstoppable package!!

Great truck for the money. Good power and pretty quick on 3S. Had problems with the servo and ESC but Amian rushed me the new upgraded parts and I haven't had any problems so far. Only been ran about 10 minutes since the new parts were installed though.

Team Associated Rival MT10 RTR 1/10 Brushless Monster Truck
Super fun. Bought it for my son. He’s 4 so it’s gunna break often. But first day the streering servo died. Not quite sure how that happened. Now I’ve had it for a week or two and the esc came unstuck and now doesn’t work. Weelie bar breaks pretty easy. But still after all that, even though the esc is not working, the truck is a blast to drive. Obviously it’s gunna break with my 4 year old driving it. If you pick it up just double check the esc is on there good. Maybe they should have screwed it down rather then tape. Who knows. It’s fun.
