The Team Associated Rival MT10 RTR 1/10 Brushless Monster Truck is powerful and purpose built monster truck capable of running on 3s LiPo battery. Its strength lies at the very core of this beast with its high-performance 3300kv Reedy brushless motor, fully sealed transmission, robust shaft drive, and center differential.
The RIVAL MT10 features long-travel independent suspension that is managed by four fluid-filled, adjustable coil-over shocks, giving the RIVAL MT10 the ability to roll over just about anything in its path. Giant aggressive monster truck tires provide maximum traction, letting the RIVAL MT10 claw through the toughest terrain with ease. The 4WD drivetrain includes three sealed gear differentials that transfer the power through durable, slider-type drive shafts to both ends of the truck. Whether you're smokin' tires on the asphalt, rippin' through the lawn, or tearin' up a dirt field, Team Associated has you covered with the RIVAL MT10!

This truck is worth the hype. I've had it a month now, and have tried 2s and 3s. My driving style is more about high speed slides and drifts, not so much about huge air. That said, this truck is amazing. The center of gravity is surprisingly low for a monster truck, so on loose dirt it usually slides with controllable oversteer instead of rolling. On tall grass, it can traction roll, but its so stable it's slow to lift the inside wheels so you can usually catch it and drive out of it. If you do want to jump it, it's very stable and controllable in the air, especially on 3s. This is a very balanced chassis. A slightly softer spring in the rear would help it launch better, but it's perfectly capable stock.
Power is exceptional. 2s is plenty quick, 3s it can wheelie all you want. The electronics are top notch, especially for the money. No adjustable esc, but for the price, who cares?
Durability has been excellent. One month in running on dirt, grass, and some jumps, I've had the right rear lug nut come off, and I lost the same wheels center cap. Absolutely no other issues. The motor runs borderline too hot on 3s in tall grass, so I added a cooling fan, but that's the only mod I've needed so far. I bought the RPM control arms when I bought the truck, but I haven't needed them yet. I'm going to see how far the stock ones go before failure. Considering I'm not really interested in sending it "to the moon", it looks like it's going to be a while.
I had the Stampede 4x4 before this and it was constant heartbreak. Non stop breaking parts, didn't handle well, had to wrench every other time I drove it, etc. The Rival has been the complete opposite.
Between this and the SR10, I'm becoming a Team Associated fanboy. Great vehicles.
Not usually a monster truck fan due to the handling, but this one handles very well, more like a stadium truck with larger tires.
Center diff was low on fluid, was diffing out alot, after topping it up with 120K (all I had, 100k usually recommended), works very well.
Factory brushless has good smooth startup, servo has good speed and torque for general bashing.
I would recommend a 3s if using factory brushless, has good power on 2s but not as aggressive as I like.
Currently running Castle 3800 Sidewinder 3 SCT on 2s with 12T pinion, very happy with this setup, alot more acceleration/torque will lift front end when I want, but not popping up all the time when I don't want it to.
Drivetrain is smooth, did end up removing small washers behind hex pins as they created a slight drag.
I'd give it 4.5/5 for these 2 very minor issues.
Everything was assembled well, did not find any loose hardware, pinion grub screw had good thread lock on it.
Would buy again & Recommend
Just one thing to note, this truck is basically made to run on 3S. It's no slouch but it does lack a bit of bottom-end punch when run on 2S. Bumping up a cell really wakes this thing up. It's actually difficult to keep the front end down on 3S, which is especially impressive on a truck with a center diff.
It was given a 4 star rating because there were a few things we had to wrench on. First the motor moved due to one of the motor mount screws not being completely tight (Luckily it moved far enough to not strip the spur gear. The second was the adjuster on the steering rack backed off twice which causes the steering to hardly work. Both problems were easy fixes but I'm not sure a 1st time hobbyist would be able to fix it on their own.
I have seen YouTube videos of people jumping them 20 to 40 feet in the air and it surviving the landings but I am not going to get that crazy with it. The only thing I will try is some other on and off road monster truck wheels on it.
Great truck and alot of fun right out of the box.
It is well built and tough, i would most certainly recomend this truck to anyone looking for a 3s capable 1/10 scale MT.
It runs as good as the arrma big rock i have but more fun!!
If your running 3S the motor does get hot. Plan on buying an 1/10 motor fan mount Part#: EXO1718BLU or the fan shroud with fan Part#: DYNS7750. Use a Male JR to Female JST Y Splitter Harness Parallel Wire & 1 Pair JST to JR Male Female Cable Servo Adapter to connect the two fans. Or do as other sand solder the fans straight to the battery connection.
easy to control and jumps nice
Method wheels and tires give it a nice touch
I would recommend buying this for everyday fun
we as a family have about 43 rc vehicles to choose from and this is one of the favorites.
Seems to be very good quality so far and long run times on 2S 5000 mah. It is silly fast on 3S.....
If the driver was as good as the truck this would be an unstoppable package!!
The car is very well made.
The motor is punchy and powerful.
Thanks to "Team Associated" for making great products.
