The front bearing on the center differential went out the first run. When it did it got hot and warped the plastic in the chassis where it seats, as this is part of the chassis the chassis will need to be replaced as well as the bearing. This led to the mesh for the spur/pinion and rear ring/pinion to be way off ruining all but the pinion.
Once I re-build the vehicle with superior bearings and a few other bits I hope it'll be fine.
Edit* I had a 30mm fan on the motor and also one zip tied to the esc, ran them both from the aux output on the receiver.
Edit#2* Also, Mine came with 2 left rear hubs instead of a right and left. smh... whoever built mine at the factory got it wrong.
Edit#3* Amain paid for the parts, of course, because they're winners and have always been 1st class for me.
Having gone through the vehicle with new/proper parts and some tlc its a very nimble little rocket and now I know why everyone else loves it!
About to order some different ones. Even with the preload set as far as it can go the rear springs have almost zero tension. That’s really my only complaint! Well, wait. Ha. The reason I took one star. Mine does have a bit more cogging than I feel it should. Mildly annoying and could have been mitigated with gearing. But, they did something right, because I sure don’t regret the purchase!
I contacted Team Associated support, and they sent me out a new TX and RX without delay. While it would have been nice to not have received a broken radio to start with, their customer support was good, and I received a working replacement radio approximately a week later.
Now that I have driven the car, I will say that it otherwise appears to be well made. For the price, it is surprisingly well built (the radio being the exception as with most RTRs, though it is better than many RTR radios). It has survived a couple of decent crashes without breaking anything.
