The Team Associated RC10B74.2 Team 1/10 4WD Off-Road Electric Buggy Kit has been designed to reduce weight, lower the center of gravity and improve jump and bump handling. Building on every iteration of the RC10 platform, the B74.2 allows for higher stability and better predictability.
The RC10B74.2 and RC10B74.2D introduce molded gearboxes front and rear, which lower the center of gravity by removing weight from high points of the car. The modified differentials improve rolling speed through turns and increase stability on landings, allowing the buggy to corner faster on higher-grip carpet and clay tracks. The latest 13mm big bore shock technology from Team Associated is included, taking the RC10B74.2 to the next level in jump and bump handling performance. The introduction of gull wing front suspension arms and the inclusion of the LTC gear sets for the differentials make the RC10B74.2 platform easier and more predictable to drive on any track condition.
NOTE: Finished kit shown in photos is for illustrative purposes only. See the Needed to Complete list below for a full list of items required to complete the model.
Features:
- Lightweight molded gearboxes both front and rear
- Two fixed height front gearboxes allowing for +0 and +2mm differential height options
- One rear gearbox with RC10B6-style inserts allowing 0, +1, +2, and +3mm differential height options
- 13mm big-bore threaded aluminum shocks and springs with machined shock pistons for improved bump and jump handling
- Gull wing front suspension arms and mating shock tower for a lower center of gravity and better steering predictability
- LTC differential gear sets are included. That reduces binding under power, giving a more predictable power delivery
- The battery hold-down system uses inserts to adjust weight bias. O-ring style battery strap with pull tabs
- Larger 3.5mm turnbuckles with updated rod end style ballcups to increase durability and reduce bind in the suspension
- Center bulkhead fan mount that mounts the fan above the motor for better cooling performance
- -2mm wing mounts for use with slicks and low-profile carpet tires to further lower the center of gravity
- +3mm aluminum steering rack for optimized bump steer at low ride heights
- 66mm Rear CVA drive shafts and axles for more on-power traction and a more predictable driving feel
- 2-pad high-load, high-capacity center slipper clutch with LCF pad material

Very impressed !
But it’s not perfect. In 2 track days I have broken an A plate, 2 rear arms, a rear driveshaft, and several balls cups have popped off. I also own a 22 xb4c. So it’s all I have to compare it to. 4wd buggies break. All of them. But the X-ray is faster, easier to drive, and just turns faster laps. This is box stock. It could be a comparable buggy with some tuning and option parts. It’s better than X-ray in the fact its carpet race ready right out of the box. X-ray needs a couple hundred in option parts. The associated is also much cheaper to own. A driveshaft pin that the pin broke caused 47.11 in damage to the X-ray. Needed to replace the pin the barrel and the driveshaft. Associated sells the same thing for 20 bucks.
The X-ray is the better car box stock. My X-ray gets beat by associated’s all the time. It’s a great buggy but I took out one star because of durability. I’ve spent more time fixing it than driving it!!!
