Finished building mine a few days ago, minus the ESC and motor as they will be here soon. I picked up a full set of both proline hoosier tires and pomona wheels, as well as the belted Jconcepts rears and green fronts with their tactic wheels. I also grabbed the drag specialties beefy rear sway bar setup, a set of Associated 8.5mm aluminum hexes as plastic ones are lame, and I also built up a set of 4 27.5mm Associated threaded shocks with the Kashima coated bodies, delrin pistons/sleeves and x-rings plus the Jconcepts alu caps top and bottom, as like others have said, the non threaded shocks in the kit are really cheap. They need to come out with a version with better parts for another $100 to $150, but for $199 you cant complain about much. Now i just want to run it...
Great car I like associated products raced one years ago love A Main hobbies lot's of parts fast delivery highly recommend
Kit was missing 2 minor parts but you guys were on it and got them to me quickly. You are my hobby shop! Thanks, Harry
Great staring point. Afterseveral hundreds of dollars In up grades this thing is fast as hell. Still lear m ig how to control this beast.
Nice kit great instructions. Really enjoyed the build
Couldn't decide whether to give it 2 or 3 stars.
As another had stated, I too had some parts missing with this kit. I was missing a number of screws and had to dig through my spare misc box for more screws. It was also missing one of the little red o-rings for the diff, PLUS the cva's that were pre-built were completely rusty and had to replace them, plus it would have been nice if they had given us threaded shock bodies......
Fun build it’s not my first time this is my Forth Drag car to build and my 200+ cars I’ve built in my life Thanks for asking!
Not bad for my first kit . Directions were a little lacking and missing a few parts , but overall I am quite pleased .
This was the first ever kit I've ever bought. Always had RTR's in the past. The instructions included were very well done, clear, and printed nicely. Each parts bag was labelled and everything assembled in "steps", starting with bag 1, 2, 3, so on. This made it easy to piddle with it a little at a time like a jigsaw puzzle. It was fun, IMO to put together. Everything assembled smoothly and fit as described. Wheels ARE included, but no tires.
A major perk of this kit was the OPTIONAL anti-roll kit was also included! Overall very happy with this purchase.
As a long time crawler I’ve built my share of rigs and have learned where the junk is. The kit is as solid as the RTR but both need some help. Why all the other suppliers can make a rigid wheelie bar and mount, But not associated .
Shocks,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.....they forgot to finish mine, not one thread!! But the don’t leak when built and slimed properly.
Don’t forget the shine, this is a well built solid rig. Would I buy another? Yes in a heartbeat. A large amount of fun in this modest box!
As with all team-associated products, this one is very good. The kit is well documented and the assembly is fairly easy. As to it's running I haven't had it on the track yet. I do have some concerns with how sloppy the suspension is. Setting toe and camber is a bit sloppy. I am use to the kits with a bit tighter tolerances. When I get this on the track and see how good it performs or if I need to do some major changes to make it perform better. then I will have more information for you guys.
Love the kit,It's got everything you need to build a fast drag car the way that you want it!
This is my second DR10. The first one went together so well I purchased a second for my children.
Great products and the best service that’s why I have stayed with amain for years never had an order wrong or bad product looking forward to many more years to come
For what you get this kit is awesome. Like others have said, I too would recommend getting threaded shocks. I upgraded only the rear shocks for now. I found that the stock shock pistons will not work with TiNi shock shafts by Team Associated. If you are building a full Kashima shock you will need compatible pistons. I used the 1.6 2 hole pistons from the B6.1 and they worked perfect with the setup. I live my life 132ft at a time. For those couple of seconds, I am free.
Bought the kit due to everything else being out of stock but I like to build things so that played into my decision also, so far everything seems planned and organized great.
I recieved the kit but upon install i noticed i was missing a few parts and screws! Kinda upset at that but yes ive read reviews on the kit cars and its very common
Kit was a blast to put together. It helped me understand the RTR and how to repair it in the future. These two are my first cars.
This is actually a very nice kit, the diff oil included is 500,000 wt and locks the diff up nicely. I found the shock oil to be a bit thin for drag racing set up's, and the shock springs on the stiff side . I would also recommend the drag race concepts ARB system to lock the rear control arms so the rear suspension behaves more like a solid axle . You will also need tires and a body, the kit includes the wheels. The reason I gave this 4 stars is because two of the shock assemblies were missing the shaft o-ring spacers . Other then that I’m quite happy with this kit.
The DR10 kit is just another typical Associated kit; beautiful, complete with great instructions. It was a joy to build.
