Spektrum RC iXSR 6-Channel DSMR Surface Transmitter
The price of the transmitter is a bit high, so I was skeptical. However, it truly is an outstanding transmitter, the best I've ever owned and I've owned all the usual suspects. It is incredibly programmable and the software is reasonably well designed so you're not going through menu after menu. Being able to change colors for each model (both LEDs and display) is a nice touch and is something I didn't realize I would like so much. I have 10+ models bound so far (some 11ms some 5.5ms) without any issue. The battery life is outstanding.

The included USB cable is terrible and the magnet comes loose, so I just used one I had lying around the shop. Weight wise it feels about right.

One thing people don't talk about is that once the unit powers up, you can almost immediately control the last RC that was bound. So, if you're at the track and power it back on, you can turn power on the RC pretty much at the same time. That said, online reviews hugely over conflate the boot time. Load the batteries in the RC while you power it up I guess if you're that impatient?

Most importantly the transmitter feels nice in the hand, the hall sensors are superb.

Is it worth the price? I think so because I find the overall design well done, built with nice materials and it's "one controller to rule them all".

I really like this radio, and think Spektrum hit it out the park on this. I love the magnet USB charge cable and its nice how it fits in my hand. The radio is a little heavy tho.

Feels nice in your hand and I like the touch screen very much. However, I have the steering tension tighten completely and I believe it’s still very light. Also the steering wheel it self is slightly small for my liking too. It’s also slightly annoying that you only get a quick start guide with the radio and not a full paper manual and you also have to download it yourself on the radio which for 700 dollars is kind of annoying because when you’re building kits and trying to dial your cars in and addition to switching radios it’s almost like I should have received the radio in kit form too. It is nice don’t get me wrong the touch screen and adjustability is sweet but it’s just not seven hundred dollars sweet.

Old hardware + old OS = typical Spektrum high end radios. Should’ve learned my lesson with the DX6R.
