2. Tolerances and parts finish is superb. I have wanted to build a Schumacher kit since the 80's. Super easy build, every step is in its own bag, you never waste a second looking for what size screw goes where (looking at you AE).
3. Curb weight is a bit high. The aluminum pieces for the tranny are brilliant works of art, but could probably be 'less' in terms of thickness to drop some grams. This likely applies to the chassis as well but I didn't actually weigh it. Domestic plastic designs look inferior as you build it, but lets be honest, they work pretty darn well, and are crazy light.
4. Carbon fiber shock towers, and other carbon fiber pieces, are the best I have ever seen in a manufacturer's kit. Plenty of them in all of the right places, but not a enough to offset the overall design with respect to weight savings.
5. Shocks are awesome. They use E clips, really not a big deal. My son (age 10), was wondering why they had those cool fused hinge pins for the rear which are a combination of a regular hinge pin + a fused hex head on the end, but did not have a threaded shock shaft ready to accept a cap head screw (like AE). I told him, change is expensive.
6. I am running position 4 on a tight indoor clay track that is maybe 80 x 50 feet. Adjusted oil dampening in the front to be about 35 wt. The 50 wt is strictly for high traction carpet. The belt drive will likely be upgraded to a lay down in the future. Only been out racing with it once. Most recently I ran SCT (6.1) that my son now races. It was an adjustment, but you can't break new tires in on the 1st day. Used to run a B5M Lite a few years ago.
7. The final drive ratio is not a big deal if you adjust your pinion and spur.
8. Probably not for beginners, belt tension, etc.. Parts ARE readily available from amain, but if you break and miss the main at your local track (no one else stocks parts), you probably will have a bad day. I do this for fun, so not an issue for me.
9. Cool factor is undeniable.
10. See #1.
