RJ Speed 1/10 Outlaw Sprinter Kit

I bought this car as an experimental parkinglot racer and general speed machine. I started with a class rule car and then tried a few different motor, pinion and NIMH pack combos to see what it can do. A Tamiya Dirt Tuned brushed motor,31 tooth pinion and a 3000mah NIMH pack shredded the outside of the foam tires in less than one run. It's more fun to run the Tamiya silver can motor and a 2000mah NIMH. I also changed the pinion to a 28 tooth to keep a bit more speed. It's plenty quick on a small oval but is still a very rigid car so it hops around a bunch if you just try and power the whole way around the track. It requires attentive setup and driving skill that is not as intimidating as a more serious GT car. I liked painting the body but I would recommend paying close attention to how the wing is trimmed and assembled before painting. Also I slotted the adjustment holes on the wing mounts for easier adjustment. Because im not in a racing class I'm replacing the original foam tires with another brand's asphalt specific foam tires to see if they last a bit longer. Lots of fun! Affordable and simple with a large tuning envelope. Part fitment wasn't the best but it's a fun build that's something different. Check your local track/club before you buy. The Legend cars seem to be more popular. The closest tracks to me are almost two hours away so I chose the Outlaw sprint because of the price, and that giant wing stands out like a billboard! It looks great!
