The servo's aren't high torque, the cheaper traxxas servo I just put on it works way better. The Volcano chassis is configured to not allow LiPO batteries to fit under the clamp, I use velcro rap. I guess for $180 with a battery, it's OK. But it is no where near as good as the Blackout which is also $180 with a battery. With all the money in parts and components I've spent thus far, I should have just got something better.
I seen that review about the battery being garbage, not really. They work great on my blackout. I think the volcano may just be just a little too heavy for NiMH.
As stated earlier I own both Blackout and Volcano. One more fun fact, don't use the stock controller/receiver with a brushless upgrade. I made that mistake because I didn't want to have to buy another spektrum controller, after putting the drive shaft back in three times the wheel melted off. If it weren't for the shaft problem, a controller with a throttle limit and LiPo, would make this truck OK. BUT, I tried extensively to get the right size shaft. No one who buys an RTR should have to take their dogbone to a machine shop to be lengthened.
