The Redcat International Scout II Gen8 AXE Edition is the world's first Ready to Run scale crawler with a brushless motor & ESC. Includes a HobbyWing XERUN sensored AXE system including a brushless motor and ESC, Reefs RC 422HD V2 metal gear waterproof servo, and Flysky GT5 6 channel radio.

The Gen8 AXE Edition has other enhancements over the standard Gen8 as well. These enhancements include a convertible style body with full roll cage, a pair of plastic injected molded seats, dashboard, steering wheel and gear shifts; plus an optional spare tire mount. The heavy duty axles, stronger portal gears, flat bottom skid plate, stronger plastic axle housings and steel transmission gears are also included to make the Gen8 AXE Edition stronger than ever.

The Gen8 AXE Edition is a highly competitive rock crawler that includes many performance features such as: C-channel frame rails, low center of gravity battery tray, centrally mounted divorced transfer case, lockable slipper clutch, portal axles with metal gear covers, MOD-1 gears, machined aluminum spools, front CVAs, 32 rubber-sealed ball bearings, threaded aluminum shocks, 47 steering blocks with proper Ackerman, Panhard bar, LED-ready bumpers, winch-ready front bumper, and frame mounted floor pans.

The Gen8 AXE Edition features a highly detailed fully licensed International Scout II body, hard plastic grill, plastic folding mirrors, molded inner and outer fenders, shackle mount front bumper, receiver hitch ready rear bumper, and plastic rock sliders. The Gen8's body and bumpers are ready to have LED lights installed.

True to scale, licensed Interco IROK Super Swamper tires and functional beadlock wheels pull the Gen8 AXE Edition through the toughest terrains. Each wheel uses inner and outer beadlock rings for maximum strength and tire holding capability.

Portal axles provide more ground clearance without needing bigger tires. On GEN8 models, much of the gear reduction happens inside the portal axles, which means less chassis torque twist than traditional axle shaft driven rock crawlers. The portal axles provide 54.5mm of ground clearance and include metal gear covers, metal wheel hexes, and CNC machined spools.

The innovative dual design slipper clutch allows the driver to set the slipper clutch, or completely lock it out. Locking out the slipper clutch is simple, just remove the slipper pads and springs, then reassemble. The GEN8 AXE Edition includes a 32P spur gear and Mod 1 gears in the transmission, transfer case, and portal axles.

The Gen8 AXE Edition's heavy duty metal geared transmission and transfer case feature massive Mod 1 gears, which are designed for hard core crawling of the most grueling conditions. A sealed pinion and spur keeps the gears safe from rocks and debris. The Redcat GEN8 AXE Edition features a front mounted brushless Hobbywing AXE motor and a divorced transfer case.

The Redcat GEN8 AXE Edition makes it easy to conquer all types of terrain. The stock configuration offers users 80mm of ground clearance, a 61 degree approach angle, and a 39.5 degree departure angle. The Gen8 International Scout II AXE Edition is highly upgradeable with many upgraded parts available, including numerous 3D printable parts that have been made available for download by our engineers. The Redcat Gen8 AXE Edition is a great choice for anyone looking for a high performance rock crawler with limitless potential.

Redcat Gen8 International Scout II AXE Edition 1/10 4WD RTR Scale Rock Crawler
Bought this for the wife, should have bought for myself before buying the other "flagship" brands.

Quality is amazing especially with all the upgrades the axe has over the standard gen8 driveline and parts wise.

Redcat is a name to be recon with in the crawler world.

Redcat Gen8 International Scout II AXE Edition 1/10 4WD RTR Scale Rock Crawler
This car is awesome!!! I have the brushed model as well that I gave 5 stars im giving this car for stars because the hobbywing brushless axe system is highly upgradable however what they don't tell you is that you have to purchase a module to do so this is printed nowhere in the manual and it is not printed anywhere in the hobbywing instructions either so please know if you are buying this crawler and you want to upgrade the parameters on the ESC you have to purchase the module for another $60 this isn't that big of a deal other than nowhere in the description is this specified that is super frustrating. Also the bump steer on this car is absolutely terrible if you want to do serious crawling you need to buy lower suspension links immediately to fix this problem for it to be a competitive crawler

Redcat Gen8 International Scout II AXE Edition 1/10 4WD RTR Scale Rock Crawler
This is tremendous value in a crawler. Everything came packaged nicely and was assembled properly. The body is even better in person; the interior is a nice touch and all of the lights are real and ready to accept leds. The Hobbywing system is great. I have the 550 Axe in a Sendero and was worried the 540 in this larger truck would feel under-powered. That is not the case at all. The top speed is about the same as the Sendero with the 550 and I don't notice any lack of punch. One complaint I've seen thrown around is the tires. Compared to a Hyrax or similar on rocks, they won't perform as well. However they look great and a lot of the trails I go on have very steep dirt climbs, for those conditions I find the tires perform really well.

Overall the truck is quiet, great radio, great servo, great motor/esc, great scale body. There's just no way you could build something this nice for the price. As a scale trail truck it's amazing.

you will not be disappointed with this truck! so much fun and high end electronics right out of the box. recommend to check loctite on the front/rear axle pinion (countersunk on the pinion output shaft inside diff) for some have come loose from what i have heard. dont hurt to add some marine grease to portals. performance wise this is an absolute beast!

Redcat Gen8 International Scout II AXE Edition 1/10 4WD RTR Scale Rock Crawler
I love this truck, I did upgrade the wheels and tires pretty much straight away to get a little more aggressive stance and better side hill performance. Straight out of the box though I will say that this truck is a true performer and is ready to get you into some serious fun. I would recommend to anyone who is interested in going RTR as their first RC Crawler you get a lot of bang for your buck here.

Redcat Gen8 International Scout II AXE Edition 1/10 4WD RTR Scale Rock Crawler
One of the best rtr units i have ever bought. This thing out of the box is awesome. I have had it out a few times since i have bought it along with trx4s, and scx3, and its definitely a contender out of the box. Very capable unit. Cant wait to upgrade.

Redcat Gen8 International Scout II AXE Edition 1/10 4WD RTR Scale Rock Crawler
Had a Gen7 before this one. It was interesting seeing how far Redcat has come between the two models. All I can say is I was left speechless on multipule occasions with this truck. Ive had the truck for two months now. Not alot in terms of time but Ive put the truck through places I wouldnt even go. Ive crawled it up a river. Through the water, through the reeds, up slippery rocks and was impressed. Submerged it on multipul occasions and watched it drive on the bottom of the river. The drag brake is surreal. Throttle is super smooth and you can really make it crawl at low speeds by barely pulling the trigger.

Only "issues" Ive encountered so far is the car doing this werid "wobble" when driving in reverse at low speeds and simultaneously steering.

Another issue was when I drove the car into a rock and dragged the front bumper on it. It snagged the tow hook and ripped the mouting hole on the bumper right open. Not that big of a deal, now I have a good reason to upgrade to a metal bumper.

Over all I am super happy with this truck and plan on keeping it for a long while.

Redcat Gen8 International Scout II AXE Edition 1/10 4WD RTR Scale Rock Crawler
What an amazing truck. This thing is not only beautiful but it handles terrain so easily. And it has power for days. The axe brushless system gives you super precise low speed control and gobs of torque. And that reefs servo is a beast. Absolutely love this truck!

Redcat Gen8 International Scout II AXE Edition 1/10 4WD RTR Scale Rock Crawler
The Redcat gen 8 axe is the best deal out there without a doubt! It is ready to roll right out of the box as all the upgrades are already done for you!(its only weak point is the tires and foams) Get some beadlocks, add a bit of weight to them and soft compound tires for climbing and this truck is a very capable machine and looks awesome doing it!I own 2 of them personally!

Redcat Gen8 International Scout II AXE Edition 1/10 4WD RTR Scale Rock Crawler
Wow, what an impressive truck. I have only had it a few days, but I love it. It makes an awesome pairing with my TRX-4 Bronco. I added two figures (Arnold-T2 and Sara Conner. Looks mean with them and the black paintjob. Had to modify the drivers seat a bit (move it forward so Arnold could reach the steering wheel). Worth the price. Glad I got it when I did as I see it not available now until June! The Velcro was super hard to get the body off so I just added some small tabs of packing tape over half the Velcro strips and now it is MUCH easier to get the body on and off.

Redcat Gen8 International Scout II AXE Edition 1/10 4WD RTR Scale Rock Crawler
I purchased the original Scout II a year ago and had to buy the Axe edition. Once I get the controls figured out I am going to have a very cool crawler. I have the magnet conversion done on both Scouts and this is a whole lot easier than the velcro.

Redcat Gen8 International Scout II AXE Edition 1/10 4WD RTR Scale Rock Crawler
Looked at redcat gen8 axe on rc review and decided to get it. I have other redcats and knew about servo problems. Gen8 axe was steering to left 50 percent out of box so I adjusted servo horn. Now there is only slight trim. All parts of gen8 axe appear to be high quality. I am about to upgrade to metal spur gear and slipper pads which are metal. Compared to my trx4s it is a close call between them except for two speed tranny. The Gen8Axe was missing a control knob on top,and redcat is sending a new one. Going to use loctite on all screws. Love the new body and spare tire location. Update; I have added all lights and servo relocation mount. Also the part to get rid of bump steer. Installed husky steering links. Have not taken it outside until all upgrades are done.
I gave this to my brother in law and the Wendigo last July 2021. I plan on getting the gen8 v2 next. I did not like the bodies on either redcat and really liked the motor and esc combo with the transmitter included with the Axe.
