This is the RCPROPLUS Soldering Station. This simple yet ingenious stand features a low profile tri-pod base design with rubberized feet that help to prevent the base from sliding on your workbench surface. The horizontal stabilizer bar mounts securely to the vertical center post and allows you to adjust the height up and down, and holds three alligator wire clips that can be easily slid into position. Also, the stabilizer bar can be rotated over 180°, making the bottom side of the wires the top! As the previous reviewer said, the functionality is very good, but the fit and finish is not. The legs were very difficult to screw in. I had to turn them back and forth using WD40, before they finally seated. The same was true with the alligator clips. I was never able to slide the center clip onto the main mounting bar. I believe the thickness of the chroming is the problem. I am exchanging this one for another in the hopes that the fit will be better. Amain customer service is the best!!!

This hands free soldering station is functionally as good as it looks in the video. The fit and finish is a bit rough. It was necessary to file both holes in the center clamp and all in all three alligator clips just to get them over the posts. the threads in the three legs were very rough and difficult to screw into the base. There are no instructions so of course since there are two ways to put the center clamp together I picked the wrong one the first time (watch the video again before you put it together). For $32 you shouldn't have to work so hard to put it together. Oh, and the fuel hose alligator clip pads shown in the video are not part of the kit. I think they are a good idea and luckily I had some fuel hose laying around. All and all I'm glad I bought it.

Great tool for holding wires, connectors or anything that needs soldering. Its very well built, and easy to adjust. I put some nitro fuel tubing over the alligator clips to keep them from piercing through the wires, works great. A must have tool.

fit and finish was good on mine. everything connected together smoothly. i too wish it had thumb screws instead of grub screws.....

(wanted to update). there is an accessory thumbscrew kit:
RPPRCA1218TS they are 4mm thumb screws like the one that lets you pivot the horizontal croc clip bar

Not much new to add to the other comments. Fit and finish were fine on the one I received. As one other reviewer stated, thumb screws would be nice, also if they included about 6" of fuel tubing that you could cut and place over the teeth of the alligator clips would be a nice touch. Overall this is a nice unit and I would recommend it.

I had no problem with fit or finish, it went together quickly. I like the non slip legs and the wide sturdy base. I agree with comments from other reviewers that the allen screw should be replaced in future versions with thumb screws. (I'm already searching for suitable replacement) Another way this product could be improved is to make it so the arm with the alligator clips on it could rotate 90 degrees. This would help with soldering bullet connectors. Hold a connector with one clip, while another clip holds the wire waiting to be attached.

Overall, nice product that could use a few improvements. 4 stars!

This is a great soldering station and very well designed and built. However, there are a few things that could be done to make it even better. (1) Put a couple flats on each of the legs, so one can use a small adjustable wrench to tighten them into the base. (2) Remove the burr on the ends of the round bars, caused by rounding their ends, before chroming them, so it's easier to initially slide the main hub and alligator clips on to them. (3) Finally, utilize knurled knob screws, like the one in the main hub, for the alligator clips, instead of Allen head set screws. This would allow one to more readily adjust the position of the alligator clips, without having to waste time hunting down the right size Allen wrench to adjust them.
