Awesome rig! Looks incredible runs great out of the box. The transmitter included with the kit is actually better then I expected, 3 channel with plenty of adjustments. Great "scale" truck with tons of upgrade parts if you want to go that route. My only gripe is that the rear bumper, roll bar, and rock sliders are all plastic.
Nice truck! Went thru all the screws and everything was tight. I had read online that sometimes RC4wd sends trucks out with loose or missing screws. All I can say is WOW! Thanks to Amain hobbies it was sent fast and secure. You have a new customer.

This is one great truck. Quiet. Powerful. Single speed great. Installed RC4WD Terraflex Z BOX and rotating shackle on back. Bang zoom what an improvement...!!!
Truck climbs very good. Scale looks. Love it. Tires are great...upgraded to KING SHOCKS. 100 in back...100 in front. Very nice

First RC4WD product I’ve owned and I can honestly say I’m very satisfied. The detail they put into this rig is second to none. No rig is perfect out of the box. This truck performs exactly how you would expect a 1:1 version to. Some people are driven away by it being a leaf spring setup but i feel that’s what makes it so true to scale. The tires are great for trailing out of the box, not bad on the rocks as well. It kinda feels underpowered but it won’t snap any driveline prematurely that way. All in all I think they hit a home run with the marlin crawler. If a true to scale rig is your thing , this will not disappoint.

Amain delivered. It arrived in perfect condition earlier than expected. Use loctite! Go over the entire truck and loctite it all. Already had a few screws back out multiple times. (Specifically, drag link rod end at knuckle). Springs are too stiff & coil springs in shocks are unnecessary, so removed them along w/ smallest leaf on each corner. Tires also make contact w/ fenders due to the newly increased flex, so a minor body trim is in order.
Additionally, I’m not at all impressed w/ the welding/brazing of the front bumper. Perhaps I got a poorly made bumper? I’m considering media blasting it and brazing all joints again myself.
All that said, the truck is beautiful and a blast to drive! Challenging and very rewarding. Tires are awesome! They look great and grip just as well. Overall, I’m very happy w/ this RTR. Its capabilities are limited when compared to a linked setup w/ coilovers, but it has greatly exceeded my expectations!
I only wish it had been available as a kit. Would have saved time assembling to my standards from the start. A few tweaks necessary here and there, but that’s typical. I have already recommended it to friends and look forward to getting a lot more time
behind the wheel!
I primarily purchased the truck for aesthetics, because I love the looks, and its realistic functions with leaf spring suspension system, transmission, transfer case and so on. It has been sitting on my shelf ever since I bought it, and never driven once. Recently I thought about give it an upgrade with taller suspension system, so I ordered some shackles and taller shocks (i.e., 100mm) along with metal drive shafts. For what I bought it for, I have no complaints, except I can't upgrade it, because some of the screws were too tight. I think they were over tightened at the factory. I couldn't remove drive shafts, because their hex screws were way too tight and I stripped one of them. I ended up breaking my hex wrench (the smallest one) along the way. I checked to see if other screws were too tight, and noticed the screws fastening the shaft that extends from the transmission to the transfer case couldn't be removed either. I was able to successfully remove screws for the suspension system, so that is good news. I am only disappointed about this over tightened screws. For this reason, I would probably buy a kit next time so that I can assemble it myself. For now, I am stuck with parts I can't use to upgrade. I wish the maker of this RC car would ease off on tightening their RC screws and bolts.
A nice surprise to get this rig. Compared to my VP Phoenix, TRX-4 etc, this is refreshingly different.
I started with adding locktite to most of the screws, shimmed one differential extra as needed.
Removed springs inside the shocks and added shock oil. Did a moderate «chino» mod on the springs and ran it.
The tires are fantastic, and a solid front metal bumper was another nice surprise.
I quickly discovered that I needed some more punch, so I replaced the 45t motor with a 550 21t on 3S.
Now this Marlin is becoming a favourite, less crawler and more trail than my others, but leaf springs are fun :)

Love it. Great truck. Make sure to go over nuts and bolts. May want to loctite metal to metal bolts. But overall quality is great. With some mods it can be a very capable crawler.

This is a great truck. I wanted to set it up as a crawler then eventually a tow rig when my F350 body showed up. My main worry was the leafs being too soft, but they have been fine even with two leafs. Please don’t let the bad reviews deter you from this truck. This is the most sturdy and strong truck out of my 3. (TF2, TRX4 and 10ii). The motor is a little slow for my type of driving especially on the stock battery, but on a 2S is a lot better.
