Pro Boat Stealthwake 23 Deep-V RTR Boat
My occupation is chasing geese so I use the heck out of rc boats (in addition to border collies). For years I’ve used the RIO EP and it had its hiccups now and then, but was overall an excellent boat. Went to purchase a new one last month and found that RIO EPS are no longer made. I was steered to this boat instead. It takes different batteries, charger cables, etc, but that’s to be expected. What I didn’t expect was a boat costing nearly $200 having one problem after another. It worked great for a week, but after that I’ve had issue after issue. Electric connections are crap and can wiggle apart in the middle of a pond. Had it worked on but it continued to be a problem. Then the bar comes loose so the propeller comes loose and can get stranded in a pond. Now I can’t even get full power with a fully charged new battery... I can run faster than my boat. I would NOT recommend this boat.

Pro Boat Stealthwake 23 Deep-V RTR Boat
First time i ran the boat it was awesome. 10mins in the boat stopped in the middle of the lake. I thought the battery was dead so i put another one in it and sent it back out. it ran super slow and then stopped on a full battery. Found out the motor died. Got a new motor reissued put it in ran like a bat out of hell on the lake for 15 minutes or so on a 7.4v lipo and then the boat started on fire. The motor go to hot and the coil didn't cool it again for a second time. Boat is charred and unusable. Literally ran it 2 times and it caught fire. Everything was setup properly before running it. All the settings and jumpers were set right for the ECM but it still failed. My opinion is its the cooling coil that fail from not being properly sealed to cool the boat. It was a cool fun boat when it ran but I would stay away if I were you. I basically lost all the money on a boat that ran 2 times and now its a paper weight. Look at another proboat and stay away from this one. I want to point out that Amain hobbies has been really cool and there is no issues with them. Just quite frankly the boat was a epic fail honestly.

Pro Boat Stealthwake 23 Deep-V RTR Boat
A solid entry level, hobby grade boat. Remember that hobby grade RC boats require much higher levels of maintenance and care than RC cars/trucks. Without this maintenance, you'll have a hard time keeping ANY hobby grade RC boat in the water.

This is a fun beginner boat. The cooling system is inadequate and I've burned up a few motors in it already. I replaced the rudder with water cooling because the water pickup on the bottom of the boat is inadequate. I placed an order with offshoreelectrics to get upgraded water cooled 150amp ESC and a brushless motor. Other than burning up motors, this is a fun little boat. Now it will be worth over $400 with the upgrades. Save your money and get a decent boat from the beginning. This boat is not a good choice at all. It is similar to the Traxxas Blast which I also own and have exactly the same problem. It will also get a brushless upgrade soon. I hope this helps.

I would love to give this 5 stars but I have to be honest. I posted a test run on my Instagram account port_city_rc and it’s first test run lasted about 35 seconds before the motor went up in smoke. So if you’re looking for a first boat rc keep searching because this boat isn’t it. Pro boat needs to pull this model of the shelf and give it an overhaul. The design is worth keeping. I tried putting in a cheap brushless system but ended up with the same results. So if you buy this model you will have to look into a power plant system that actually works and stays cool. I’m going to be playing around with the hull of the boat to maybe help it cool the power plant better so i can actually have a run time on this model. I will post on my Instagram account and tag Amain hobbies if anyone wants to follow it’s progress.

Pro Boat Stealthwake 23 Deep-V RTR Boat
Had it out a few times, Make sure you grease the shaft! The first thing should do after you open the box. I have the Helion Rivos; I have had it a year, The stealth is a much better quality boat all the way around. It is fast and will turn on a dime! The only real issue is water getting in the compartment, everything is waterproof, so I use tape now. Get a lot of comments on this boat! very fun to drive!! I run 2s lipo in it, Gets warm but not hot. Going to upgrade to a brushless, For longevity, and wee bit more speed. I don't recommend 3s! Just because it will not handle the abuse on the hull! (cracked the Rivos hull on lake Erie!!)
I would recommend it for a first boat for sure!! Just grease often!!

update.
Still going strong, changed it to a brushless motor set up, all stock still less motor and ESC. The motor is a 550 size and a little bit more power than stock. Doesn't overheat, a little bit faster, that is all I wanted with this boat was durability and bit more speed. Super great boat!!
*remember to grease that shaft every few runs...

Pro Boat Stealthwake 23 Deep-V RTR Boat
I love this boat. The stock battery is ok, but upgrading to the 2s lipo will give longer run times and better top speed. However, expect to burn out the brushes in the motor. I ran mine about 2 dozen times before it stopped dead in the lake. This was a huge bummer and apparently pretty common. Here's where it gets tricky- the stock motor is discontinued. Horizon Hobby said to use DYNS1222 as a replacement. But based on some advice on the web, I ended up just upgrading to brushless with a Turnigy 70a marine esc and Surpass Hobby 3660 2600KV brushless motor. This combo works great with the lipo and increased the speed a touch more as well. The boat turns on a dime when up to speed and gotta love that rooster tail. As others have stated, don't forget to occasionally grease the shaft which takes less than 5 minutes.
