Electric 4WD 1/10 Scale Powerhouse

The Losi TENACITY DB Pro 1/10 RTR 4WD Brushless Desert Buggy is built off the legendary TEN platform - a design known as one of the toughest available. The Losi TENACITY DB Pro Buggy is a continuation of that dominance. The TENACITY DB Pro includes a full metric hardware package and aluminum features the other guys sell as option parts.

About the TENACITY DB Pro

Chassis

The foundation of the TENACITY DB Pro consists of a 3mm, anodized aluminum chassis plate with a composite upper deck. For added durability and performance it's integrated with a realistic roll cage made of super-tough composite material. Whether you are hitting the whoops, getting huge air, or just wide open, the 3mm chassis just keeps asking for more!

Suspension & Drivetrain

Adjustable oil filled coil-over aluminum shocks on all four corners soak up the gnarliest terrain. The 12mm shocks are fully adjustable and allow you to tune the handling of the TENACITY DB Pro to maximize performance and dominate anywhere.

Electronics

The brushless ESC and motor provide wicked power with a 3-cell LiPo battery (not included) that will blaze at speeds of 50+ MPH. The TENACITY DB Pro is loaded with waterproof electronics including the receiver, servo, and ESC. Everything is sealed against the elements allowing you to splash in the rain, spin in the mud, and make tracks in the snow. It's full-throttle freedom to run anytime, rain or shine. The Spektrum DX3 radio system offers advanced features like AVC control, a 3-position throttle limiting switch, and travel adjustment. It's also fully compatible with the Smart telemetry potential provided by the vehicle's installed Spektrum Firma Smart 40A ESC/receiver, and has a convenient voltage level indicator for any Spektrum Smart batteries!

Losi TENACITY DB Pro 1/10 RTR 4WD Brushless Desert Buggy (Fox Racing)
AMainhobbies is outstanding i will start with that, the rig got here two days early on a Sunday. The Losi quality department however, is severely lacking. Upon inspection of the vehicle and hardware, all of the hardware had corrosion, not what i would expect from a new purchase, but i dealt with it using a light wire brush. All of the chassis screws were very loose and the forward and aft support brace hardware is totally stripped, i am going to need to order the metal version. The Pinion gear was missing the set-screw and threads were damaged so no set-screw could be installed. I am now running the 3S pinion because that is all i have now. Once those hurdles were addressed i took the truck out for the first rip, and man is it a fun rig! 2s is a blast even with the lower gearing, using the smart technology of Spektrum on the DX3 and the bluetooth adapter really give you a ton of info at your fingertips. I would purchase this again and would still recommend this rig but not to someone new to R/C, the poor quality control and missing/damaged hardware would create a terrible experience for a new hobbyist.

This is easily the coolest and most durable RC I've ever purchased. The only upgrade I'd consider mandatory would be an Exotek HD steering kit to replace the plastic steering components which are infamous for too much play in the wheels, mainly the left wheel. I also got the DE Racing mud guards(DER-110-10) for it, but not entirely convinced they do much. I've bashed this through the woods, grass, dirt, launched it off plenty of jumps...it just doesn't stop. In fact, I haven't even run it on 3s yet because 2s has been plenty of fun. Definitely my favorite rig in the collection, and the first one that doesn't make me feel like I have to keep throwing money at upgrades for it...because it simply doesn't need them. Losi did an awesome job on this one. You do need to run hard pack batteries in this rig, soft packs are a bit too long to fit the battery holder. I went with the Spektrum 2s 5000mah hard packs and they work great.

Losi TENACITY DB Pro 1/10 RTR 4WD Brushless Desert Buggy (Fox Racing)
As another review here mentioned, quality control seems lacking. My unit arrived with rust and damage to the flimsy internal packaging. My request for an exchange was denied by Amain, being told I have to try to go through Horizon Hobbies despite purchasing here. Extremely frustrating for a $500 purchase.

Buyer beware, seems smarter to just pick this up through the manufacturer's site. Update: Horizon doesn't honor returns purchased from anyone else, I'm stuck servicing a brand new RTR to remove rust and replace bearings. This was not $500 well spent.

Updating this review to reflect the quality of the car. It's definitely a 5/5. Buy it direct to avoid a painful RMA process.

I mean WOW. This thing may look kinda fragile and looks like it wouldn’t like rough terrain…. How wrong I was. I’ve hit head sized rocks at full speed launching this thing into a cart wheel and just drove off on SEVERAL occasions. The esc tray is pretty weak but I just used 3M tape instead and never had a problem with that. It handles like a mosquito on water, EATS sand dunes and off-road parks for breakfast, destroys tracks, and just refuses to die. It does run a little hot so I’d recommend a heat sink and some good motor fans but I advise that for every and any rc that isn’t a crawler. If you’re thinking about buying this, do it. It’s one of the best all arounders out there

I’ve had it for a month and it’s worth every penny. You can fit a GoPro inside the cockpit which makes for videos and this thing just flys through the dunes
