Losi Mini 8IGHT 1/14 Scale 4WD Brushless Electric Buggy RTR
This is a fun and fast mini but it's very flawed and requires a lot of work and money to reach it's full potential. The battery tray is extremely long for regular mini batteries and the center drive line has no guard around it, so if you are running a shorter/taller sized mini battery, the center drive line will chomp it up. To fix this I had to drill new holes in the aluminum chassis to reposition the plastic piece that holds the battery in place. Next, the servo never wants to straighten itself out. No matter how many times you trim it, the servo will go in any direction at any given point. The electronics aren't suited for this vehicle. Running on 2s everything gets extremely hot and the esc has a noticable delay from when you pull the trigger completely to when the car will actually engage in high speeds. Also, the turnbuckles rub against the tires' rim when you turn. Not the best. The diffs have very thin oil and will diff out on the smallest of obstacles. Also all the screws on the car are a very weird size. If you're not careful, you will strip them the first time you try to get them out. Get a new servo, file down the turnbuckle ends, get new screws, reposition the battery tabs (Or buy dynamite's expensive battery meant for the Mini 8ight), fill the diffs, and you'll have a fun mini that is very fast and pretty durable.
