About the Losi 8IGHT

Engine

The Dynamite .21 engine delivers exceptional high-end RPMs coupled with a substantial amount of torque, ensuring top-notch performance on any track. Tuning this engine is simplified with a 2-needle carburetor, allowing you to easily adjust for the desired speed the topends and get your idle set. This means you can confidently double in and singe out, and scream across the finish line!

Differentials

All three differentials are equipped with a metal-gears pared with a high strength metal gear transmission, providing the necessary durability for extended mains and challenging conditions.

Chassis

Losi 8IGHT Nitro 1/8 4WD RTR Buggy
I have had this buggy since it originally came out years ago. I have over 10 gallons ran through it, and the original engine is still running pretty strong. The engine is super easy to tune. And it holds a tune better than any other nitro I have owned. Alot of people say the pull start breaks rather quickly, but I have yet to break mine. Maybe I'm just lucky. I use it as a basher around my yard, and have yet to break anything besides a clutch. If you are going to run it in grass, I highly suggest getting better tires for it. The stock ones don't fair well in anything but dirt. I run duratrax lockup c2 tires on mine. They have great traction on pretty much every type of surface. This is the perfect rc for people that are new to nitro, or for those that want a super reliable nitro basher.

Losi 8IGHT Nitro 1/8 4WD RTR Buggy
great rtr. most people on here need to realize it's a rtr and its nitro. 100% of rtrs need upgrading from factory it doesn't matter what brand. For 500$ you are getting what 500$ pays for. a kit starts at over 600$ with no electronics no motor no nothing just a rolling chassis. I love my rtr buggy I upgraded the transmitter shock towers and made it work with a bump box right away. also the on and off switch died also right away but that's normal and an easy fix. both servos died right away too but that's normal again... spend 500$ on a traxxas crawler almost garenteed the electronics will die right away so it is what is it. losi did a great job ive been ripping mine for months and love it.

Losi 8IGHT Nitro 1/8 4WD RTR Buggy
For what it’s worth it is a well rounded starter buggy four your entry level to Nitro racing., although not equipped with the latest of equipment it sure gets the job done to help you practice your lap time and start you on your way to a more progressive competition buggy kit.. for what it’s priced you may need to make some upgrades ( not recommend ) unless this is your only vehicles to drive. ( this is more of practice car ) than a competition car ( perfect for beginner(s) ) lack of performance parts several upgrades needed for a competition stile buggy. Buy if you have no other option(s) even then best of luck..

Losi 8IGHT Nitro 1/8 4WD RTR Buggy
Good over all beginner kit, but there’s not much more to it! Super simplistic and easy to learn! Everything’s set in stone! Just not as good for progression into the hobby past the bare minimum rtr! I advise you check out kyoshos mp9 rtr buggy instead!

Losi 8IGHT Nitro 1/8 4WD RTR Buggy
Not my first RC vehicle but, it was my first Nitro RC vehicle. This is pretty good buggy for the price. It does have some cheaper parts on it but, it can be upgraded. It has fixed links on the steering links, caster and camber links which is fine unless you want to make adjustments for racing purposes. It also has plastic shocks. This is probably okay unless you bash it jumping ramps or if you want to race it. I believe these can be upgraded with shocks from other 8ight vehicles. The servos are very slow. These will likely fail eventually because it is obvious that they are overloaded though I haven't checked the specs on it. The exhaust pipe on it has a coupler that can easily just pop off. I plan on replacing that first. Definitely break the engine in correctly though I haven't looked at specs. The instructions do not talk much about specifics on breaking in the engine so, you will need to do a little research online about breaking in Nitro engines. I think this buggy is a good first time Nitro buggy and it can be upgraded with 8ight 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 parts if so desired.

Losi 8IGHT Nitro 1/8 4WD RTR Buggy
I am really disappointed in my purchase here. The power switch on the car was faulty right out of the box and had to be replaced. Also, the transmitter is garbage. I get about 50 feet before it loses signal. I understand that it is just an RTR but it should at least be functional. I expected more from Losi.
