Live Your Life A Scale 1/4 Mile At A Time: Mini No Prep Drag

The Losi 1/16 1970 Chevelle 2WD RTR Mini No Prep Drag Car is built on the ever-popular Losi Mini-T and Mini-B chassis. This mini "No Prep" car is designed to give RC enthusiasts an easy way to enjoy the thrills of RC drag racing. While this car comes with a scale 1970 Chevelle body, the chassis features an adjustable wheelbase to allow you to use other optional mini on-road bodies.

About the Mini No Prep Drag Car

Chassis

The 1970 Chevelle 2WD Mini No Prep Drag Car is based on the Mini 22 platform found in Losi Mini-T and Mini-B vehicles and shares most of the same parts. The aluminum chassis is 1.5mm thick and looks identical to the chassis found on 1/10 scale 2WD buggies. The transmission uses a mid motor configuration creating better balance while also aiding in steering and traction.

Suspension & Drivetrain

One of the most critical parts of "No Prep" RC is suspension tuning. This Mini chassis features a fully adjustable suspension system to fine-tune the launch and stability on the "big end". The transmission is based on the TLR (Team Losi Racing) 3-gear mid-motor transmission and features a full metal gear setup. An adjustable slipper clutch allows you to refine the power delivery.

Electronics

When it comes to power, this car has been given the Spektrum Firma 6000kV 2-in-1 brushless power system. In a 1/16 scale pass, the car only has to travel 82.5 feet. The integrated ESC on the back of the motor can be tuned to help you make a "Full PULL!!" Grab a can of Bartle Skeet and release the Bald Eagle in you with the Losi Mini No Prep Drag Car.

Losi 1/16 1970 Chevelle 2WD RTR Mini No Prep Drag Car (Black)
Love this drag car, scale realism is excellent. I must point out that I find it odd that a RC car meant for drag racing is not equipped with a positive traction Diff.? I mean, really ? I was luckly enough to find one company that still had in stock the HR Steel Spool Differential so in it will go, ASAP

On my very 1st run the Spektrum ESC/Motor combo went haywire and put an end to the day. HOWEVER, after shooting Amain's Tech dept a video of what it was doing, they quickly and I mean very quickly! sent out a replacement. KUDOS to Amaim Hobby !

While waiting for the replacement ESC/Motor combo, I decided to gut the equipment, and dropped in a Castle brushless system along with a new 7 channel Radiolink setup. Life is good now.
