LapMonitor Transponder (JR/Futaba Connector)
Very glad to see these on A-Main. This system is incredible.

We've been using them for a couple of years in some brutal heat, never had an issue. We keep the receiver brick covered by a high tech cardboard box with a window cut into it.

The beam is very generous and fairly easy to get reliable beeps. With proper height on the tripod you won't have to worry about blocking each other's transponder beams when overtaking. We found it best to place the box a bit after the turn into the big straightaway. Right beyond where spinouts tend to happen.

We've taped these beams vertically to batteries, horizontally on top of steering servos, glued em into bodies, all works fine.

If you like racing but haven't used a timing system before, I'd say this is worth your money. Being able to test tweaks with reliable laptimes made racing drastically more fun for me.
