Kyosho Ultima 1987 JJ Replica World Champion 1/10 2WD Off-Road Buggy Kit
Awesome kit! I remember being a kid and reading about JJ’s big win. Beautiful quality, great instructions as always, and that ball diff is buttery smooth, and no bubble packaging to cut through! I’ve always hated that, going back to my OG Javelin in 1986. It’s pretty, but I’m a builder, not a kit collector. Well done Kyosho! I’ve built numerous kits in my 37 years in the hobby, and Kyoshos have always been my favorites.

Kyosho Ultima 1987 JJ Replica World Champion 1/10 2WD Off-Road Buggy Kit
This was my first Kyosho build. It was an outstanding build. The quality of the hardware was the best I've seen, better than Tamiya and Associated. That said, one turnbuckle was not threaded and one bag had incorrect screws. Amain Hobbies outstanding service took care of me. The instructions are great too. There was maybe two mistakes in the manual that were addressed in an addendum sheet. The hardest part for me was installing the e-clips. I've never had so much trouble with e-clips before. Applying the window mask was a challenge but after a few tries I got it. This kit is a simple and quick build. Highly recommended.

Kyosho Ultima 1987 JJ Replica World Champion 1/10 2WD Off-Road Buggy Kit
Just opened the box and starting the build. I always raced Associated and Schumacher as a kid in the 80s. Never built a Kyosho. So far I am seriously impressed. The instruction manual is like a work of art and the carbon chassis is the nicest I have ever seen.

Kyosho Ultima 1987 JJ Replica World Champion 1/10 2WD Off-Road Buggy Kit
Fantastic quality vintage buggy with beautiful pedigree. And it’s fast on track too. It got me in the A final last weekend. A winner in the growing vintage racing classes. Surely a kit you don’t want to miss, being a limited edition.
Thanks to Amain’s coupons this kit didn’t cost me an harm and a leg. Thanks guys.

Kyosho Ultima 1987 JJ Replica World Champion 1/10 2WD Off-Road Buggy Kit
A very well built kit. This build was very easy, fast and quite satisfying since it comes with all the hip ups you would want to put on. My only hold back with not giving it five stars is the packaging. Kyosho has made a practice of being the best at packaging with its amazing open box presentation, blister packs and sectional separation, but here they totally failed. This time they took a small box and just threw in everything with what seems a complete lack of care and very similar to how Schumacher does with their kits.
It appears as the new owners of Kyosho have failed the brand. Please Kyosho, remember why we buy your sets, nostalgia, quality, and pride of ownership. This kit lacks the reason I am many others usually buy TWO of each kit.
