All starter boxes are not created equal! Many starter boxes look alike, but that doesn't mean they're the same. The new Kyosho Multi-Starter 2.0 is one of the most versatile starter boxes on the market that starts almost anything from the smallest nitro machine up to a big 1/8 off-road truggy.

The key feature 2.0 version of Kyosho's Multi-Starter is its small 55mm (2.15in.) starter wheel. The smaller wheel means there's more torque to crank even the most stubborn engines, and the starter wheel gets farther up through the flywheel opening of any chassis, which means it's easier for the starter to reach the engine's flywheel.

New slots are cut across the top of the starter box instead of end to end, making it easier to position a wider variety of vehicles on the 2.0 Multi-Starter Box. A pair of high-torque 550 motors with internal cooling fans drives the starter wheel via belt drive, all of which is attached to a pod that can be repositioned in the starter box housing to start inline or transverse-mounted engines. There are also multiple positions for the starter wheel, so the Multi-Starter 2.0 can accommodate just about any engine mounting position.

Note: Two 7.2 Volt Stick Pack Batteries Required for operation.

I love this starter box. Does exactly what it is supposed to every time. I changed the connectors and power it with a 4S lipo. 3300mAh gets me through all day at the track with plenty to spare.

Kyosho Multi Starter Box Pro 2.0
I own several of all the major brands: Mugen, AE, OFNAs, Muchmore, Protek, Losi, Duratrax, and a couple others I can't recall and this one I like the best.
The wheel is smaller than the rest and never has any trouble hitting the flywheel. Has good space to fit more kinds of batteries, and there's a cut out behind the sticker for easy install if you want a power panel, no serious mod for that.
It's the same design as some of the newer OFNA boxes but with the smaller wheel and the top plate is slightly different.
So it's an older design but still the best IMO.
Never had a problem with engine break-ins and I've done several with these boxes.

Kyosho Multi Starter Box Pro 2.0
Alright so this is definitely a nice product and I've been using it for some time now( few months) for my Nitro RS4 2 and setting up some other nitros to use it with. So unboxing was fairly straight forward. I got 2 gen ace packs for it and after a few tedious minutes of setting up the alignment pieces to keep my chassis on it straight it worked great even for a brand new engine startup for the break-in process. 1st day using it was great however, during either the 2nd or 3rd day of use it stopped working. No power was reaching the motors as I soon found out trouble shooting. I narrowed it down to the pressure switch and that's when I noticed something out of the ordinary. The static contact points for the pressure switch had melted into the plastic mounting plate just enough so that the melted plastic was preventing a complete circuit. Ended up being a quick fix though. I removed the screws holding the wires and static contact points in place, smoothed out the melted plastic and when reinstalling the contact points I added some 4mm bushings under the contact plates for heat dissipation and to keep the plates from being in direct contact with the plastic mounting plate. Once that was done, a simple adjustment to the center spring (tightened) to raise it up to compensate for the bushings so it wasn't constantly in contact, it works like a dream and have not had any issues at all since. The fix process only took about 5 min total, 10 with the problem solving. That being said, I would definitely keep an eye on the contact points for the pressure switch and maybe save yourself some trouble later on and do what I did or something similar but I do recommend this product even after that issue.

Kyosho Multi Starter Box Pro 2.0
Starts my engine no problems. My only complaint is that it was a pain in the butt to setup for my d812. I didn't think it was going to work for my car, but with some minor mods (adding another strategically placed hole for a peg) my buggy mounts up no problems. I'm very new to this, luckily I don't have any problem figuring out things, but instructions on how to set up a car on a box would be very nice for someone who hasn't done it before. Overall a high quality product.

Best starter box I have ever owned. Even better than a Mugen Box for some cars. The key to this box is the extremely small wheel. This makes marrying the wheel and the flywheel easier, I run OS Speed engines and they are extemely tight when new but this box does the trick.

If you are tired of struggling with starter boxes that wont turn those new motors, or even some tired motors, then this is the box! I cannot believe I have ever purchased anything else. I just buy a wheel and belt every season and I'm set. Best box out there at any price because it WILL do the job.

The wheel is way too soft. Didn’t even get through engine break-in before the wheel wore out.

Kyosho Multi Starter Box Pro 2.0
Awesome box with plenty of power to break in any motor. I did have to modify the box and even dremel some out to fit my MP10 TKI2,but it’s worth it. Wheel comes set up for on road you gotta move it. This box has 2 550 motors not 775’s but because of the really small wheel it has Plenty of power. I use a single protec stater box battery and it last a full weekend of non stop use and then some. Great box for the price. It will power ANY 1/8 buggy OR Truggy with no problem
