About the MP9 Readyset

Engine & Pipe

The 3.5cc KE21SP engine delivers exceptional high-end RPMs coupled with a substantial amount of torque, ensuring top-notch performance on any track. Tuning this engine is simplified with a 2-needle carburetor, allowing you to easily adjust for the desired speed on both the top and bottom ends. This means you can confidently double in and singe out, and scream across the finish line!

Suspension Design

The suspension geometry of this buggy is completely adjustable to ensure you can precisely setup this buggy to your track. The large shock bodies are super smooth and use a bladder style for excellent dampening. The shock springs are the same that were developed for the Kyosho 2022 GB Buggy. Sway bars are used front and rear to further improve chassis stability.

Kyosho Inferno MP9 TKI4 V2 ReadySet 1/8 Nitro Buggy
You cannot beat the Inferno. Its been around a long time and they know what they are doing with it. Is there better? Sure depending on who you ask.. but at what cost? The readyset is absolutely great for anybody who isn't hard-core racing and putting out $1500 on 1 rig for 1 purpose. You can buy the better parts as you get better and need them if you are racing and actually need them.
Built extremely well.
The kyosho ke21sp is plenty powerful enough. Easy to tune.
Stock tires are very good imo for all sorts of conditions.
I really have no faults. 10/10

Kyosho Inferno MP9 TKI4 V2 ReadySet 1/8 Nitro Buggy
Fantastic quality for the price. The engine has good torque down low and plenty of power to get to top speed quickly out of the turns. Really good engine for an RTR. The suspension is the
real strong point of this buggy, making the steering very precise on uneven surfaces. This thing is ready for the track right after proper break in and tuning. My only gripe with this vehicle is the fact all the screws are phillips. This is a small issue though and easily fixed with an MP9 hex screw kit.

Not a bad rtr. Found several screws that needed tightened and the screw plug for the rear diff that wasn't screwed in all the way and was rubbing in the case.the serpent 811b rtr looks to be a higher quality rtr for less.

Kyosho Inferno MP9 TKI4 V2 ReadySet 1/8 Nitro Buggy
Let me start off by saying that I am new to Nitro racing, but I have had all kinds of nitro’s in the past (Traxxas, Losi, and Team Associated in various platforms). In my opinion, this RTR buggy is by far the most value for your dollar in terms of what you get out of it straight out of the box. The engine is extremely easy to break-in/tune, and it has plenty of power to launch you off the biggest of jumps. Overall, the electronics work great and the stock servos have plenty of power/torque for someone who is just learning to race, but I do plan on upgrading these as they wear out or break. The only issue I have had in the electrical department is the stock battery connector was knocked loose after a full track day (yes there were some crashes), but I was able to superglue the connector back in place and all seems to be working well now. As far as durability is concerned, this buggy can take a beating and continue to work great. Like I mentioned earlier, I am new to off road racing so I have crashed this quite a few times and the only thing that broke was the front control arm after I smashed into the back of the landing ramp of a massive double, but that’s a 10 dollar fix and everything else was fine. Also, the stock pullstart broke somehow (I wasn’t pulling the string out too far), but just so you know, the Dynamite .21 pull start is an EXACT replacement, so if the Kyosho replacement is out of stock, you can order the Dynamite. Another thing to note is that the stock bearings on the diffs and bell shaft needed to be replaced after 3 days of racing/practicing, but this may be a common part that needs to be replaced after many hard sessions? Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about this buggy and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get into nitro racing or nitro in general!

Kyosho Inferno MP9 TKI4 V2 ReadySet 1/8 Nitro Buggy
I personally love this car, I did proper break in and a few tanks after break in, it starts in a few pulls, so it’s a very good rtr motor. The k-blox tires are amazing for most track conditions and bashing, the servos are pretty fast on 6.0v but idk about for racing. The only reason I am giving it a 4 star is because the caster steering knuckles are very weak and I have broke two in the past week, but I have some aluminum ones on the way. The suspension is very damp and smooth, could use some stiffer springs cause it will bottom out on a jump pretty easily. But I love this car overall, good rtr.

Kyosho Inferno MP9 TKI4 V2 ReadySet 1/8 Nitro Buggy
Very good buddy and was probably one of the easiest break in’s I have done. Only problem was a bad glow plug and that was after break in and the on of switch was plugged in wrong out of the box. I would recommend this buggy.

Kyosho Inferno MP9 TKI4 V2 ReadySet 1/8 Nitro Buggy
Only had the buggy for 3 weeks already have a bent chassis before i got to race it. First run after break in hit a stone in the road not huge just a rock from gravel driveway instantly broke the rear hub carrier not big deal bought the aluminum ones when ordering the kit. Still running good but just noticed today that some time when i ran it maybe like 4-5 times out just casual driving no crazy jumps just putting some time in at the park with minimal time in the air just barely enough to get the wheels off the ground. the chassis had bent in the center bad it would rock when sitting on the chassis and the body would fit very snuggly against the shock towers. I was able to straighten it out a little just disappointing how easy it bent definitely would not stand up to any jumps on a track. Every stronger chassis is on back order for who knows how long definitely not a good start for the season. Other than that engine has been performing great and has lots of power just the weak chassis is very annoying

Kyosho Inferno MP9 TKI4 V2 ReadySet 1/8 Nitro Buggy
Nice beginners buggy. Out of the box I Upgraded the front knuckles to the optional alloy version since the stock ones are very weak. For racing you would also need to upgrade the chassis.

Kyosho Inferno MP9 TKI4 V2 ReadySet 1/8 Nitro Buggy
i got this buggy for Christmas , i own several Nitro Rc's including a kyosho inferno neo 3.0 nitro buggy. this MP9 Tki 4 V2 is great and holds up to the kyosho Name and quality . the engine is super easy to tune and not fussy at all , it idles great right out of the box . i would highly recommend the MP9 Tki 4 V2 and the kyosho inferno neo 3.0 for your first nitro rc. you'll have a blast with them.

Kyosho Inferno MP9 TKI4 V2 ReadySet 1/8 Nitro Buggy
This is probably the best platform you can start into nitro racing. i recomend getting a hex screw kit and hard suspension holders. this chassis is completly compatable with most ALL MP10 parts. This is the only RTR kit to get if you plan on upgrading without buying a new kit.
