Happy to fly the Kyosho and AMain banners any chance I get!
For the car, it's really solid. I went through it and checked everything. Secure and properly assembled. It's 95% there out of the box. You will need to adjust your endpoints, but they actually do a decent job of getting it pretty close out of the box. The only of thing I can highly recommend is checking your linkages for throttle and brakes. Minimal adjustment needed there as well, but still recommended to keep the car from riding the brakes all the time. Break-in is a breeze, I didn't bother using the included carb cap. Just use good fuel and it'll break-in easy from my experience. I'm running VP 30% and it's a good fuel.
My one and only gripe are the Phillips screws. I knew this going into the car and it's not a deal breaker by any means and the upgraded screw kit is not costly.
Overall, great car and minimal fiddling necessary to get it going. I highly recommend buying from Amain, as well. Great people.
After a decade of being out of the hobby I picked one of these up and have not been disappointed. The quality of this RTR is very good for the price and I have not broken anything so far after about a half dozen bash sessions and multiple crashes.
I read and followed the instructions in the manual for setup and break-in and the MP10 has ran great from the start. It has been very easy to tune, and break-in was a breeze. They send include a "break-in ring" to put in the intake of the carb that restricts the air-flow, providing a more controlled break-in procedure that is only five tanks long.
The powerplant is excellent. The engine has great power, the carb holds a tune all day, and the tuned pipe has a nice deep, free-flowing sound to it. While it doesn't have the insane torque of a brushless system, there's still plenty enough power to satisfy a thirsty trigger finger. It will roast the tires no problem on any surface and if you like doing donuts, this thing will spin like a top for you on 20% nitro.
The suspension is also great. The shocks are plush, easy to setup, and don't leak. The MP10 handles so well that even though it's almost constantly trying to get sideways, it's always easy to control and direct. I did find adding some shims to the front hinge pins and wheel carries did add some extra stability for me though.
The electronics however are probably it's weakest point. The transmitter and receiver kick ass but the servos are pretty mediocre and cannot handle LiFe or Lipo receiver packs and so out of the box it is setup to take AA batteries to power everything, weak! The battery box is nice and big though so you can upgrade to a Lipo pack and fit it in there no problem, there is even mounting points for an electronic power switch as well, so with some extra money you can have this thing up to modern standards without any modifications to the chassis.
The hardware is Philips which is certainly not my preference, but it has not been as bad as I thought it would. I've been using my electric screwdriver with standard US bits and have not had any issues with the JIS screws.
All things considered I still gave it a 5 out of 5 because personal preferences aside, this thing does run well out of the box. I just hate dealing with AA batteries and low volt electronics.
Another positive thing that I have not seen mentioned about the MP10 are the differentials. On the MP9 there was a lot of ire because the front, center, and rear differentials only contained two bevel gears each. I assumed this would be the case for the MP10 as well, but I can confirm that there are four bevel gears per differential on the MP10! Hooray for bevel gears!!
TL;DR:
Let me tell you, this thing slaps!
