This is a pack of thirty replacement Kyosho 3x5mm Clutch Shims, and are intended for use with the Kyosho Inferno family of 1/8 scale nitro vehicles, as well as the Ultima and Lazer family of 1/10 scale vehicles.

These shims are used to shim the clutch shoes on a Kyosho 3-shoe clutch, but can be used on any clutch that uses 3mm flywheel pins. They are installed on the flywheel pins before the clutch shoes are installed, and are used to space the clutch shoe off the flywheel. This will help to prevent the shoes from hanging up on the flywheel when the shoes pivot on the flywheel pins. These are also used on the Ultima and Lazer family of vehicles to remove excess play in the suspension arms, and are also used in the servo saver assemblies.

Includes:

  • (10) 3x5x0.1mm Shim
  • (10) 3x5x0.2mm Shim
  • (10) 3x5x0.3mm Shim

Kyosho 3x5mm Shim Set
These are your best friend and one of those parts you don’t think about until you lose one and REALLY need it.

I bought this set to replace a shim I lost while installing Tamiya’s steering upgrade kit on my TT-02. I desperately needed a particular shim but every other seller who had genuine Tamiya parts either wanted an arm and a leg for them or weren’t going to ship it out for at least 6 weeks. No good. A quick Google search of the part dimensions led me to Amain who had this set. While not a “genuine Tamiya” part, it was the only thing compatible to use AND the fastest to get to keep my build going.

Shipping was super fast and I was able to get my model back racing in no time.

One thing to note: while Tamiya and Kyosho are competing brands, a lot of generic parts like screws and shims can be bought from either company to use on each others models. I would say they share it but it’s only shared in dimensions.
