I have seen where this Truck has talked bad about in many forums, tho I'd bet half those talking it down have not owned or drivin this Truck! I have been racing my SC10 for a year and a half, and have won my share of race's with it and love the truck! But I just had to try this truck because Eric Shaver's backed it up so well. The build is great with great parts,I did however have the main gear in the diff snap in the center when I started adjusting the diff.Called HPI they sent me a whole new diff, awesome customer support!!!!After getting it built,I brought it to the race's as a backup to my SC10. During the 2nd qual I broke a rear hub,so I went to the ESE and TQed the race and then won with this puppy! After looking a my time's from race's past,I found those 2 races where better times than 90% of my times with my (baby) the SC10. And now with a few months with this ESE it is working even better,I have shelved my SC10 and am now going to buy a second ESE.Truly the the best bang for the buck!!!!!!!And a Rebate to Boot!!!
Nice truck for indoor runs like we do in Switzerland during the bad season; i got one of each Blitz; a RTR and an ESE; i will say that the ESE is better than the RTR for the steering crankbell, it hasen't got loose, that is realy good for turning precision; but now come the problems; first, the ball diff is realy light; it's difficult to get the right fine tune; the washers of the 9 small balls for the tune are so fragile! one has broken during a run and no way to repair on the track cause no washers more in the spare parts bag :( so i decided to put the gear diff of the RTR in the gearbox box of ESE; no way, even if it seems to be the same, it doesn't work well, it's too much tight! so back in the original RTR gearbox; i have tryied to reinstall the mip shafts, but it was impossible! they are a bit longer than the normal one; so you can' put the optional mip in the RTR! for that, you must order the ball diff! Haha! Well done, HPI! so back with the normal shafts and now, it works good; i will say that: the gear diff is much better than the ball diff; just change the viscosity of the grease/oil and run it! but the mip's problem is still here; it's a bit pitty to run the ESE with normal shafts...
see you on track!
I've had the ESE since they first came out and race it almost every weekend. Never a problem or broken part. I haven't even seen anyone else break one. Don't know what all the fuss is about.
Great kit and fun build. Truck is solid and really designed well. I would reccomend this to everyone. My first electric and the instructions an steps were well laid out. This is a well tooled kit.
Great kit, easy to build even as a beginner. Is great on the track.
Glad I got this one instead of other brands. Very durable!
I don´t understand those poeple who are to stupid to race a competition Truck like the ESE. The CHASSIS doesn´t brake into two pieces if you don´t bash the truck. I race mine a couple of races and had some bad chrashes too. But never had any problems with broken parts !!!
Building this kit is awesome. Perfekt fit & high quality parts are standart on this kit.

So, after having my Blitz ESE on the track for less than 2 weeks I have broken more parts than I broke on the RTR kit during the several months of racing it. Right before my main on Sunday my chassis decided to snap into two pieces. After doing research I have found that this seems to be a very common problem with this kit. I do not recommend getting this kit unless if you plan to race it on a Short Course track, the plastic seems too fragile to take any hits from an off road track. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of this kit and wish that I would have stayed with the RTR Blitz!! -//- I purchased this kit last Friday, built it over the weekend and have to say the build on this kit was smooth. Although I have yet to put it on the track I am confident that it is going to be a great kit! I highly recommend this kit!!!
MY BRAND NEW BLITZ SNAPPED THE CHASSIS AT THE NECK GOING OVER A JUMP IT WAS A GOOD LANDING ALL TIRES ,HAVE HEARD SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM IT MADE IT HALF A RACE
VERY DISSAPOINTED EXPECTED BETTER DESIGN
what??????? seen the chassis layout...this truck looks really nicely set up for high end short course racing.
this car is poorly made, has a ton of design problems and breaks very easily. To start the front servo mount is one peice, which would be great if they made inserts, but they were lazy and left it the size for a touring car servo, which means u can't fit a regular size or high torque, high speed servo, u have to buy a really small servo. i will give HPI some credit they used carbide balls in the diff, and some titanium, which is rare for 230 bucks. but the main chassis breaks really easily, if the chassis touches the ground it will break
The "Blitz" "BLOWS", if you want a DURABLE competition SCT then there is only one choice, the Factory Team SC10 BIOTCH! =D
