With a longer wheelbase, wider stance and huge 5.9cc (.36 cubic inch) engine, the Savage XL is ready to rock and roll right out of the box. The HPI design team added strategically strengthened hop-up parts to tame the massive K5.9 power for unmatched durability. The Savage XL definitely looks the part of the massive monster truck! The extended wheelbase is the perfect evolution of the Savage design, and the extended chassis and larger tires are a perfect match for the new, bigger 'GT Gigante' body!
The wide front grill and huge headlights of the GT Gigante body merge with the flared wheel arches front and rear for a huge 'wow factor,' adding to the impression of huge size and strength! The large Terra Pin tires fit the body perfectly for a scale monster truck look that's sure to intimidate the opposition at your local bashing arena! The stock motor is a good motor and supplies plenty of power but guys...come on...we want MORE POWER right?? I replaced the stock motor with an O.S. .30VG (X) Pull start and WOW....this engine after proper break in has twice the power and makes this truck seem as if it's light as a feather. I have included a link where I got my O.S. VG .30 (X) pull start from....hope this helps!!

I went to the local hobby shop and had a look at the truck. I found that the steering is not much. Anyone who had purchased this truck tell me if the steering is good?
