Hot Racing Axial SCX24 050 High Torque Motor w/Pinion (66T)

I think this is the best motor for the scx24 with the stock ESC. I use it in my comp build deadbolt which has heavy treal beadlocks with rc4wd scramblers, as well as a handful of other brass pieces. Not the heaviest but not lightweight.
This motor seems to have a lot better low speed control than stock and the barrage. I've even had people ask if I had the furitek lizard in it.
A big bonus I've found is nudging it into reverse is a lot smoother than stock. It doesn't lurch backwards in the tight situations so you can crawl a lot more realistically. Top speed is about similar but the speed ramp up is more smooth with this high torque motor. Much more enjoyable than stock.
No issues after a handful of charges so far.

Didn’t purchase this from amain, ended up purchasing this and the motor plate from my LHS. If you have the stock motor on your scx24 is will eventually be a must have when your stock dynamite motor burns out. Had two friends with c10’s and both of their motors got burnt out at the same time. When I bought my c10 scx24 I bought this (along with the motor plate) right away since I knew about the issue. Haven’t had a ton of time with the motor on my own truck but used it lot on both of my buddies who replaced theirs with this motor. If your looking for a motor to upgrade the stock performance but not anything crazy this is the one to get. The motor is noticeably torquier and feels stronger. Also sounds better IMO. Seems to run cooler than the stock motor does. If your going to be doing any upgrades to any heavy wheels you will definitely want this motor eventually as the smaller stock motor will not cut it with some nice heavy wheels. Runtimes with this motor appear to be identical. This motor feels like it’s a hair just a hair faster. But the slow speed control is awesome, and with more torque it’s even better than the stock motor. Overall a great upgrade and can’t go wrong with this one in your scx24. Only down side is minor and you just have to chop the one passenger side support for the battery tray since the motor is a lot longer but I don’t even notice a difference with the one support gone.

Decent motor but can is too long to fit in a stock scx24 without modifying/cutting the battery holder braces.

I wanted to thank the folks over at AMain Hobbies for standing behind their product and so quickly replacing the motor for me that was no good with a good one so Thank you soo much for doing this for me you guys are the best and I will be shopping here again.

i bought this motor for my scx24 gladiator in january (2023)
I have used it all winter with snow tracks and it works perfectly, enough torque, and it's got a nice low speed control with the v2 electronics.
you will need to cut the front of the battery tray and a motor plate.

CHECK YOUR MOTOR PLATE FIRST! My stock motor plate had the motor mount holes in the WRONG LOCATION. If you are not sure, order the SCX24 metal motor mount from this store, since it has four mounting holes. If you don't mind doing pretty easy modifications, then you can make the holes yourself. You will need a 5/64" bit, a drill, a flat metal file, a small nail set and a hammer. I just eyeballed where the holes should be and then used the nail set to start the two holes. There is not much metal for the hole, so be careful where you set and drill it. Once you have drilled it you will need to file down the exit side of the hole. Once I did that I was able to mount the motor. However, one more issue is how long the motor is. You will need to cut OFF the front right battery mounting post. There is no room for it with the longer motor.

Once I did that, my truck is driving around again:)

Such a huge improvement to the stock motor. My poor son only got 2 runs on the stock motor and kept blaming himself for doing something wrong, which he didn’t. I highly recommend this motor and the separate motor plate. Might as well just take the SCX24s stock motor out before the first run and throw it in the garbage.

This motor is a must-upgrade for your SCX 24. HR motor mount is not required as you can upgrade a stock motor mount.

I received my new hot racing motor 2 days ago and installed it right away. its been working awesome and I have not had any issues with it. it is noticeably slower than stock but has so much more power. I was able to compare each motor and the new hot racing motor out preformed the stock motor in every category. definitely recommend!

good motor it works good it has more torque but slower

I bought this hoping it would be a solid build. Thankfully it is holding up just fine pushing around my sons rock racer crawler with a full metal upgrade to everything. Plugged it into the stock esc and away it went.

Much smoother and stronger than the stock motor. Easy install

Worked great for 5 weeks.
Used the RC about a dozen times and the new motor burnt out, nothing very difficult just books and pillows, only inside since I got the new motor. Safe to say, not overly happy.
Let's hope there is a warranty for it!
