HobbyZone Sport Cub S 2 RTF Electric Airplane w/SAFE (616mm)
I have flown small drones for several years now as a hobby. For my recent 73'd birthday the family suggested I should learn to fly R/C aircraft as a new interest. After watching several Youtube videos I settled on purchasing the Sport Cub S2 as my beginner A/C.Being in Lockdown in New Zealand I purchased on line from amain hobbies in the US. The service was outstanding and the model arrived 6 days earlier that stated by them. Amazing service. The aircraft was excellently packaged and arrived with no damage. What an amazing looking replica and required no setting up other than a slight change to the rudder push rod as advised in the manual then I was ready to try my first flight. Feeling quite nervous I decided to try a hand launch and applied full throttle and just let go of the plane. The feeling of excitement as the airplane climbed into the air was awesome. The SAFE technology had the plane in a very stable slight climb and all I needed to do was a slight trim on the rudder to have it flying straight. After several left and right hand circles has been flown I tried my first landing. With the a/c heading towards me I just decreased the throttle to induce a controlled decent and the landed on a patch of grass beside me. Plane flipped over as the grass grabbed the wheels but as a first ever flight I was very pleased with myself. Can't wait for another fine day so I can continue with my new hobby. Just need to buy some extra batteries so that I can do more that one flight per outing. Would recommend this to anyone wishing to enter the hobby. If I can fly this anyone can. Thumbs up HORIZON this is a winner.

If you're not experienced, 5-7 mph wind is all this can handle. It just doesn't have the power to overcome hardly any wind. This was my 1st time flying a RC plane. 1st flight (mild wind) lasted ~20 seconds, before I managed to crash it into a treeline, down wind. Recovered the plane, and it passed inspection for a second attempt. This flight was shorter, and ended with a nose dive into terra firma, which cracked the nose (there's no plastic cowl to support the motor/prop-just thin styrofoam), and dislodged the motor. I managed to break it, in less than 30 seconds, flying over grass. These are very fragile, thus the 2oz "flight weight".

HobbyZone Sport Cub S 2 RTF Electric Airplane w/SAFE (616mm)
This is my first plane and my 4 year old son and I love it. I was intimidated to get a plane at first because I had one about 10 years ago and it was extremely difficult to fly but I got the hang of this plane on the first day and was able to make successful take offs and landings. Although my son doesnt fly it yet he gets a kick out of watching it maneuver around the sky. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to get into planes.

HobbyZone Sport Cub S 2 RTF Electric Airplane w/SAFE (616mm)
Bought this plane from another location (for more money...shoulda looked here) as my "welcome back to flying" after about 8 years. It bound to my DX6 super easy and then flew easier than the simulator. This little guy can take a beating too, as a lot of new pilots know, landing you plane is a hard ask at times, this plan can land hard dozens of times, as well as get stuck 40' up a tree or hit a wall, and just dust it off. I had one crack in the wing that was easily fixed with a little clear tape.

My only two complaints that I have with this plane is its power and flimsy tail. This aircraft gets blown around in a 9mph wind very easily. In the "most help" mode, it was next to impossible to get the plane to come down in that level of wind; however, lower that to the "some help" or "no help" modes and that goes away, but still can get blown around. As for the tail, it was hard to get trimmed in, and is no where near as strong as a FliteTest build kit aircraft. For the most part you get no rudder control with but the elevators work just fine in the lower help modes.

Overall, this is a great little plane that I would recommend to anyone. Between the easiness of flying this aircraft and how tough it is. The downsides are not enough to even get me to give it a four star instead of five. This plane is great for first time pilots or those returning to the hobby!

HobbyZone Sport Cub S 2 RTF Electric Airplane w/SAFE (616mm)
Great little trainer plane that doesn't break the bank, I order the one that came with a transmitter which does the job but a transmitter up grade makes this plane much more fun. I chose Spektrum DX6e.

HobbyZone Sport Cub S 2 RTF Electric Airplane w/SAFE (616mm)
Long time quad-copter flyer, this is my first plane, being super light and relatively low powered, combined with the SAFE assistance flying, I got it in the air on my first try. This plane seems hard to damage, it moves slowly and weighs nothing so it's comforting as I get acclimated to RC fixed wing flight. Have yet to find an ideal location, my yard is a bit small until I learn more, and the Frisbee golf park had too many trees about. Will continue searching. Service from Amain was fantastic, having not received the overnight shipping I'd opted for they offered the difference in price in store credit! Fast answers to questions and concerns. I'll definitely continue doing business with them and recommending them to others.

HobbyZone Sport Cub S 2 RTF Electric Airplane w/SAFE (616mm)
WOW What a FANTASTIC Airplane...I have been in the R/C hobby for many years and have tried to fly so many times but failed every time until now. I took the chance with this one because of a couple of YouTube videos I watched and the price is perfect for someone at the entry level.....I flew a full battery without having to land or crash..then flew a second battery the opposite direction and on my 5th lap I put it 30ft in a tree..it stayed there for 2 days until I could get help....ready to fly again (after rain) Thanks A-MAIN for such great products, service and support. You Guys Rock

HobbyZone Sport Cub S 2 RTF Electric Airplane w/SAFE (616mm)
I got it stuck in a tall tree on my first flight. It endured multiple ice storms before I was able to get it down a week later. Everything seems to still work. So far it exceeds my expectation for durability.

This was the Best purchase I could have made to get my nephew in the air. What a great trainer, the best in my opinion! This plane is made of great quality and flies perfect right out of the box. Nice slow landing capabilities make this my #1 choice to train a beginner.

It flew great its a little lite for the idaho breeze. The biggest problem with it is there is no parts available. Mine got run over only usable part is the electronics.

HobbyZone Sport Cub S 2 RTF Electric Airplane w/SAFE (616mm)
The thing takes a beating! I've had it for over two months now and it has experienced everything. From hard landings consistently to mid-air collisions it has seen abuse! Yet right after a mid-air collision, it took right off in three feet with a three-inch gash in the right-wing that messed up the airfoil. The motor was loose and the gearbox was bumping around in the hood of the plane! I also can fly inverted for quite a while without much management. Would definatly recommend for any person.

Great starter airplane. My 9yo son loves it. It’s easy to fly and pretty durable since it’s already been stuck in 2 trees.

HobbyZone Sport Cub S 2 RTF Electric Airplane w/SAFE (616mm)
Charged up the plane and tested the control surfaces as specified in the instructions. Then I also made sure the SAFE system responded to changes in the planes orientation. I flew the plane and next thing I knew, it kept rising and rising despite me pointing the nose down and cutting back on the throttle. Eventually it rose beyond the range of the transmitter and simply flew off over the horizon. 140 dollars for 30 seconds of the flight. I'm livid. This plane is a scam.
