Hobbywing Platinum Pro 150A V5 150 Amp ESC
Hello All, I have always bought hobbywing v4 120A for my 500 size helis with 6S batteries and this time i bought the v5 150A thinking its a nice upgrade for my new tron 5.8 heritage!
I am an experienced helicopter builder and i have build upto around 15-17 helis so far and none of them crashed on their first flight.

To my utmost disappointment, on the first flight this ESC just shut down!!! i thought maybe my connections or soldering is loose, i ordered parts and build again making extra sure about the connections etc, the second time i flew and on the 2 battery it just SHUT DOWN and came crashing. i thought its the tron heli's which are badly designed, i ordered again and 3rd time on my 5th battery it shut down again and crash drastically destroying the complete heli build!!!
I am very disappointed with this i wish i would have bought the hobby wing v4 120A which i have been using for years! Its a waste of my entire heli!
Please dont buy this unless u want to crash ur heli!!!

Hobbywing Platinum Pro 150A V5 150 Amp ESC
First time HobbyWing has disappointed me. I purchased this for my Align T-Rex 550X which I had upgraded to 600mm main blades. I purchased this because it was pushing the limits of the HobbyWing Platinum Pro 120A V4 and I wanted to make sure I didn’t burn out the ESC. My telemetry was showing that I was exceeding the maximum current rating of the 120 amp V4 and thought this would do the trick. It turns out that as someone else had said in a previous review this ESC does not report telemetry but I figured I was fine since I had added more current capacity and shouldn’t worry. I quickly found out that if I loaded up the motor that this ESC shuts down, not going into low power mode but completely shutting down power to the motor. Luckily the BEC stayed active and was able to do an auto which resulted in a forward rollover but with minimum damage. I checked everything out and tried it again and the same results. I went back to the Platinum Pro 120A V4 and the 550mm blades and all is good again with over 100 flights.

Buyer beware, telemetry isn't working with Ikon/Brain FBL controllers.

Hobbywing Platinum Pro 150A V5 150 Amp ESC
I read the horror story reviews here. I had purchased a freshly built Goblin Raw 580 that had this ESC, BEFORE I read these reviews. I started watching some videos on Heli's that had this ESC installed. The most recent one, was from Westhobbiesrc's YouTube channel. He was having the power cutouts like the people who've reviewed it here, with his TB70. He too had no idea what the problem was, until a viewer said he had the fix to this problem. It seems this ESC's BEC DOES NOT LIKE ANYTHING ABOVE 8 VOLTS. When dropped to 7.4 it operates perfectly, with NO power cuts. Running it at 8v or more WILL make it cut out. Westhobbiesrc used this fix, and has had NO problems with the ESC after dropping the voltage to 7.4. Again, this review/fix was done on 03/16/24.

Hobbywing Platinum Pro 150A V5 150 Amp ESC
I replaced the Red ALIGN-HW 130A HV with this HW 150A on my Goblin 570 with VBar Neo, I get all the readings on the NEO + VControl, main reason I replaced the Align-HW was because I was exceeding Amps, the HW 150A is Working perfect on the 570, 100% recommended.

Hobbywing Platinum Pro 150A V5 150 Amp ESC
I have 2 of these. One on my Sab Raw 580, and one on my Nimbus 550. Never had a problem with either one. For just a few bucks more than the 120A, you get a V5 and up to 8S if you want. Great product, easy setup, and I shop at Amain Hobby all the time also, extremely fast shipping always, and have never had a problem with an order.. 5 stars always from me for Amain..
