The Flite Test Widgeon came into reality because of our love for it’s beautiful lines, amazing history, and incredible versatility. We designed this aircraft to compliment almost any pilot’s hangar both in flight characteristics and its wide range of use. With the FT Widgeon, you will have the benefits of being able to take off the ground, water, or snow using the removable landing gear or flying off the reinforced plastic hull. The large open fuselage leaves plenty of room for FPV gear, advanced electronics, or a wide range of batteries making it a fantastic choice to be flown as an FPV platform. The FT Widgeon also assembles with no glue or tape.  The whole aircraft assembles with the use of magnets and locking pins.  Keeping with the vision around our full PNP line, we made sure to make all the electronics accessible for both modification and servicing. Flying the FT Widgeon will be a rewarding experience for both the intermediate and advanced pilots.  The twin motors provide great thrust with no torque or pitching issues.  The newer pilot will love this as a first experience for flying off the water with the use of the large water rudder and reinforced hull.  This allows for smooth transition off the water and the ability to easily taxi back to shore.  Once in the air, the FT Widgeon is gentle and predictable. The advanced pilot will love the ability to use differential thrust to make this classic design do crazy aerobatics like flat spins and pinwheels.  Combine this aircraft with the FT Aura 5 and experience stabilized flight along with amazing features like launch assist and level assist for our beginner and FPV pilots.  Our desire is that the FT Widgeon will be an amazing addition to your hangar and an aircraft that will always grow with you in your RC Journey.

Just bought it at flitefest Ohio and man. This thing is amazing. First off I started off with a 3s 2800mah instead of a 1800mah and it works perfectly like it was made for that. Second: over ten minutes of flight time. Damn!!!!!! Wheels are a bit too short/small and the front rubs the ground when it rotates. The leds are…..leds but still like them on it. Thank you for also including the floats and not needing to buy it separately. Box is perfect and is like legos to reuse and store it. Foam and paint does seem a bit delicate but it is what it is. Will make it have differential soon

Excellent plane as others have said. Easy to change the paint scheme. Converts easily from
land to water. I was able to easily change the ESCs to ESCs with reversing. Very light weight, I found I needed to keep the
speed up in turns to avoid trouble. I did best landing with power until touchdown, not
floating in on the wind (nothing new there).

After watching the assembly and flying of the G44 Widgeon the model seem a nice fit for my type of flying. The service was fast and delivery very quick.
Read the instructions and was no difficulty with it. The video shows some short cuts that helped.
So the water rudder would not get lost it is in a small plastic envelope taped inside the model. Model is nicely finished. Would like to see no decals on the model. Let the owner attach what they like. Put two round flag decals on the wing and deciding what to replace/cover a couple of others. Also replaced the tires with 3" as our runway is a bit rough
As I've seen the real Widgeon take off and land in west coastal communities many times this model brought back good memories. Hopefully I'll do it proud with good flying.

The quality is good, not great. Nice to see real fasteners and waterproofed servos. Instructions are a bit thin but then there's not a whole lot to assemble. Magnets for tail and battery hatch are strong tho I'm still putting a fishing line tether for the just in case situations.

Color is not appealing to me. Despise the Flite Test logos all over it. Stripped off logos with heated up windex, soaked paper towel placed on them to loosen up and remove. Paint stripped off too easy with isopropyl alcohol 91% but messy job. Repainted red white. Led nav lights very limited, just red and green wing tips and white on top of tail. The floats feel very wobbly so I rigged up support cable like the real plane has. Lacks flaps tho think I can add them with a bit of work.

Using this on water only with bias differential control on engines when on water so not installing wheels or rudder. The 30amp esc seem ok but props could be better, look rather toy like. No spinners, just a rounded nose tip nuts. Waiting for hood weather to maiden but on whole happy with results after doing my personal magic to it.

Received my Flite Test Widgeon from A main. Undamaged, double boxed. Assembly was as easy as it gets, fired her up and all was good. I have not flown the bird yet, but I can see it will perform well.Good running surface and plenty of thrust should get her off the water with ease. Nice finish on the EPO. I will re review after the maiden.

This little Widgeon was well built easy to assemble and flys like a sport plane. unlimited vertical and realistic water handling compared to the real one. I highly recommend this plane

Wonderful looking and built plane. Ready to be in the air before your batteries are charged. I am confident that who ever builds the fly zone tide water built this plane as there are many similarities. However! In my case the recommended CG was almost 100 % tragic. First time out was a handful , all I wanted to do was get it on the ground in one piece from the moment it left the ground. I ended up getting it down but I wouldn’t call it a landing. Second flight slightly ahead of recommended CG was a bit better but still resulted in a stall crash on landing...., and a long swim to get the plane. Not at all happy with the way it flys with factory specs and I’m far from a new flier. Seems these are hit and miss, I’ve heard stories like mine on rcgroups. Once I replace all of the water logged electronics ( not happy at all about that.... esc’s servos and receiver) I will give it one more try with more forward CG, if that’s no good it will turn into disappointing expensive wall art. Over all not happy at this point.
