Element RC Enduro Gatekeeper 4x4 RTR 1/10 Rock Crawler w/2.4GHz Radio

Right out of the box this crawler is very capable. The servo has plenty of torque, the motor is plenty powerful, and the flip up body is very handy. It is very easy to mount lights, I have 3 light bars and 2 light pods. I swapped out the rx and tx immediately so I cannot say if they were any good. The only things I could possibly gripe about was the lack of lights initially and the tires. The tires seem to work really well for rocky terrain, however if there is any dirt hills that you have to climb, you may be sol. I tested this against an axial wraith spawn, axial Capra, traxxis trx4, and the axial honcho, I can honestly say that I like the gatekeeper far better than any of them, and was able to clear more obstacles with it. I would recommend the gatekeeper to just about anyone.

I'm new to this RC car thing, so please take my opinion with a grain of salt. This is my second 1/10 scale truck, my first being the Arrma Big Rock. I love the Big Rock. Now, I'm loving the Gatekeeper! Rock crawling is fun and challenging for me and I'm amazed at how UNSTOPPABLE this thing is! As previously stated, I've never had another rock crawler before so I have no point of reference, but this thing is cool. I happen to have a giant pile of rocks behind my house, so I spent a lot of my first day with the Gatekeeper making courses and scratching the crap out of the truck (worth while fun). I didn't change a thing, but the Gatekeeper came with extra gears, parts and stickers that I'll have loads of fun with later. I saw that there's quite a few upgrades and accessories available, but for right now, it's perfect for me as a beginner just getting into the hobby. I'm sure I'll start tinkering with it later such as adding lights and other accessories, which it already has servo wires coming from the ESC to do just that. Again, I couldn't be happier with my purchase and highly recommend this truck for someone looking for a nice RTR to start getting into rock crawling.

This is my first rock crawler, my 4th build and 1st non-japanese kit, so fairly new to RC. I found the instructions hard to visualize and ended up having to follow a video on YouTube. If you know rock crawlers, then it should be easy but I was new to "trailing arms" and "overdrive". However, The quality is outstanding. I didn't know plastic could be this hard! I would highly recommend buying a set of protek hex drivers as using the included hexes will destroy your hands. I thought I would build it and just keep it around for chasing my dog, but after I took it out on the rocks---i was hooked. Racing buggies is fun and adrenalin. Rock crawling can be relaxing and like solving a puzzle.

Truck seems to be well built and runs good. Only issue I had was when i opened the box. Put a battery in it and tried to run it it would not work. I looked it over and found the motor wires were not connected correctly. Positive to negative on both. Other than that it’s pretty awesome.

The Gatekeeper was able to make climbs that the TRX6 would just spin tires on. Outstanding!

Gatekeeper is my 10th rc and I'm very happy with it. The servos and motors are powerful, the steering angle is large, and the body is very sturdy. In particular, there is no need to replace the servo, and if you replace the motor, you will not be able to realize the effect unless you replace it with a CrawlMaster Pro 550 12t or more. This is highly recommended if you want to run through fluffy forests and dirt slopes with fallen leaves. Very agile compared to other crawlers. However, if it is not modified, it is vulnerable to camber because the vehicle height is high, and climbing steep rocks is not as good as trx4, scx10, and enduro. I want to attach the Hobbywing AX 550 R2 3300 to this and charge it into the woods. The excessively strong cage body will protect the expensive esc even if it falls to the bottom of the valley.

Love this truck. By far one of the most capable out of the box. Was worried because of past experience with associated products. This is top notch and would recommend for anyone. Has great control on even the steepest inclines and off camber moments

The Gatekeeper is a blast to crawl around with and with a couple tweek's to the shocks and a upgrade to the tires of your choice you'll have a very capable rocker and at a great price Thanks AMain

I give it a 4 star couse it could be alittle better. It is a great rig though. I've been running it in the basement on a 2s 1500mah pack. It's very light up front and gives plenty of runtime. It is quiet and smooth. I bought the program card and set the drag brake to 75%. I like better this way. I'm looking at putting lights on mine now. Headlights, taillights and rock lights. The lights will all be from powershift and the light on/off switch converter.

yet another capable truck from Element RC, I have a sendero and love it. I think i love this truck even more. The smoothness of the stealth x trans, the trailing arm suspension and rock solid RTR electronics you really can't go wrong. Great aftermarket support for these trucks as well. With a simple body switch to the ecto or Zuul body and it really wakes this truck up.

Great little crawler! You will need the rear link riser and to widen it slightly. I am not a big fan of the stock tires. It is top heavy. Servo upgrade a good idea, red label 2.5 works really well in this rig.

On good side,It is smooth,quiet, handles great, climbs really well. It's really lightweight and easy to bring along and has a great radio for an RTR. It is subjective but I really like the looks and I like the longer wheelbase. I would suggest this or the TRX sport to get started in crawling. TC8 Marksman would be a good choice as well for a 2.2 that doesn't need anything at all to crush trails and rocks. $400 puts you in a TRX Sport with a better servo, a gatekeeper with all necessary upgrades, or TC8 if you want bigger tires and more GC.

For 269$ it is a very nice RC. A bit bummed that ESC just smoked on my first run, after I drove through a deep pond. Expected it to be a bit more waterproof...

This replaced my Losi night crawler. I’m very happy with the gatekeeper. It crawls very well at reacts scale like visually. It’s much more forward weighted compared to other rc’s I’ve owned. Very good looking also. I had to switch to a shorty pack which was fine but wished a full size pack was and option. I don’t love the forward pivoting body but maybe that’s just me. It’s faster than most crawlers I’ve owned and doesn’t cog at low speeds.

Great rtr trail truck for the money. If you have extra rc bodies that are light, this rig will perform the same as the Ecto. It is the Ecto with a top heavy cage on it. Exactly the same under the buggy body. If you change the rear links you have the Enduro. You can build the truck or just put a battery in and run it, either way, you will be happy!
