The Element RC Enduro Ecto Trail Truck 4x4 Ready to Run 1/10 Rock Crawler. This is a performance truck built to endure. When hitting the trail, you want to do it with performance, confidence and good looks. Aimed towards the serious RC rock crawler enthusiast, the Enduro Ecto Trail Truck is packed full of performance features that are sure to impress.
Built on Element RC's proven stamped steel C-channel chassis this truck features the Gatekeeper Suspension package (GKS) with rear trailing arms that move the shocks forward. This allows for a larger window for shock tuning and providing improved weight bias. The trailing arms are paired with a rear anti-roll bar for a more stable and consistent suspension when crawling on the rocks. An adjustable aluminum track bar mount firmly bolted to the chassis rail gives the Enduro Ecto more reliable and responsive steering without the flex. Shock mount inserts offer multiple mounting positions to allow for precise suspension tuning, whether moving the shocks up, down, forward, or back.
Behind-the-axle (BTA) steering link greatly improves approach angle and front-end clearance, making rough terrain much easier to handle. The Stealth X features the ability to adjust the rear drive ratio independently of the front drive across three levels: stock overdrives the front end 5.7% (installed in the Ready to Run), option 1 provides a one-to-one drive ratio front-to-rear (available separately), and option 2 overdrives the front end 11.83% (included with Ready to Run).
Gripping the trail is a set of officially licensed General Grabber X3 tires molded in a high-performance, soft compound rubber. The General Grabber X3 tires are mounted on Ocho beadlock wheels. No more worrying if your Ready to Run tires will come unglued.

So when I took this out of the box, I went through it completely (checked screws, fluids, etc) and found everything up to par.
Took it on the the course and started the break in process. The more you run these tires, the more they soften up. Clean them with Simple Green and the really help with traction.
What does it need? WEIGHT! This rig is light. Adding brass knucks on the front, metal wheels and maybe brass in the rear (driver pref), this should really make this rig grab.
Out of the box, this thing is super fast for crawling. I turned the Throttle to 40% or so and made it 100% easier to maneuver on the course. Great speed for trailing though!
Overall, I really like this truck and recommend it!
The front overdrives really make climbing a snap. The trailing arms are sweet, and the shocks feel very plush. The body grows on you, and I have a clear body (ordered) also, to spray to my color choice. Put a set of wheels & tires on it already. ;-)
I feel the Ecto rtr is worth the money.
Laugh all you want but this truck lost a star in my opinion for its overwhelming crawling ability. Point and go no line needed...with in reason. (Non-Scientific Testing conducted on an open coarse with un-trained drivers under non-controlled conditions)
So everything is good enough. I did change the ESC to a Hobby Wing QR1080 as that this truck does not have an on / off button. I got an improvement but it was not a needed the stock esc is fine. As for the rumor that the tires need to be changed immediately, I say evaluate your terrain mine does fine. I also use the larger battery tray (Included) to great effect (You do need to cut the larger battery tray to get it under the body.). Lastly at this time I have not seen a lot of upgrades for the Ecto that I have thought would make a big difference. As always setup is key adjust your balance and this thing rips.
I normally run my cars stock to get a feel for what they do and so far this is just uninspiring. It has no major flaws or needs out of the box, nor does it really wow you. I really do not like to drive this with trail crawlers as that its no fun until it gets really hairy, and then the trail crawlers roll on. In the really hairy stuff you will need to make your own adjustments / upgrades 1.) stock tires do not clear my local clay/sand when moist but will grip well on dry. 2.) As indicated above I use the larger tray and a 4000mah battery for weight. That's all every thing else I want to do could be considered a down grade such as lights, rock sliders, ridiculous scorpion bumper. I do have a new set of rims coming that match the truck IMHO, but I have not picked tires.
Summary: This is the most boring rc car I have ever purchased, If you are looking for a truck it works. As the A-MAIN video review points out this is a compromise between scale and function. So just like when you compromise on where to eat this is ok but not really what you wanted... It misses at both ends NOT SCALE / NOT COMPITION. It will need some spark to become a daily driver and I haven't got any ideas how to make this truck fun.
