This is the Electrix RC Torment 1/10 Short Course Truck. The Torment SCT combines scale looks with features typically found in higher priced vehicles. The Torment takes the ECX vehicle lineup to the next level with an included Spektrum DX2E radio system with SR200 receiver, providing users with extended range and interference free operation. It also comes standard with ball bearings, oil filled shocks, custom battery strap, as well as a battery and charger, providing users with yet another complete RTR package right out of the box!

The ECX RC Torment is affordable, and looks awesome, but it's also super strong with a nylon composite material used throughout the chassis components. ECX RC Torment 1/10 Short Course Truck w/Spektrum DX2E 2.4GHz (Red/Gray)
Bottom Line: Great beginner truck for the track or just bashing around the neighborhood. You won't win any races, but this is a pretty quick truck stock and provides a LOT of fun. Best bang for the buck on a beginner truck.

The Good:
- Low price
- Great Spektrum radio components. They feel good and work flawlessly and are amazing in a kit of this price.
- Spare parts are readily available, and some parts from Traxxas Slash also fit.
- With a LiPo 7.4v battery, it has a nice speed and plenty of torque for track sessions.
- After a few minor upgrades it does everything very well.
- This thing has sustained some HARD crashes, but hasn't broken anything more than a couple bucks to fix.

The Bad:
- The stock suspension oil is super light and bottoms out easily on minor jumps. Replace immediately with 40wt and it stiffens the truck right up and calms down the chassis roll.
- The drive shaft U-joints are too thin and are made of flexy plastic. Under hard landings with lots of throttle they may break and aren't that easy to replace.
- The front hub bearing carriers are made of the same flexy plastic and can break after a hard hit to the wheel. This is a cheap $2 fix and only takes a few minutes, so no biggie.
- High center of gravity contributes to chassis roll. On the good side, this design makes for great ground clearance and bashing over and around stuff.
- Included charger is a joke. It takes 8 hours to charge a battery that lasts maybe 10 minutes. A quick charger will run another $40, or $90 for a charger that can charge Lipo, NiMh, NiCad, and lead acid batteries.

ECX RC Torment 1/10 Short Course Truck w/Spektrum DX2E 2.4GHz (Red/Gray)
I had this truck for about 3 months running it with the stock Dynamite 20T motor and for a beginner this was plenty of motor to bash and just get into the "rc world". I like a lot of people am very intimidated by the know how and ins and outs of RCing, after purchasing this truck I have taken some time figuring out what this RC world is all about. I have now upgraded the shocks to aluminum front and rear, metal transmission, and a 9T brushless motor. I run LIPO 2s and this thing is wicked. The roll over affect can occur but the truck does have great ground clearence if you want to hit some dirt jumps and what not. The stock mechanical parts are all made of plastic and will break in the event you launch off a big jumb, but the good news is that everything is simple and cheap to fix. So if you're like me and just want to see if you'll be into the hobby without breaking the bank then this is the truck for you.

this truck is horrible. it cannot take a hit. buy a traxxas slash or a team associated. both are faster and stronger for about the same price.
